Saint Mary's Meet Shakespeare

Where does The Great St. Mary's Day Out rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Quite high... this was a lot of fun.

What did you like best about this story?

The circus-like farce in general. Each group of Saint Mary's staff with their own adventures.

Have you listened to any of Zara Ramm’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, she does an excellent job as usual.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This story was pretty light hearted ad I was laughing out loud several times.

Any additional comments?

This takes place after Lies, Damned Lies, And History and before And The Rest Is History. Contains some spoilers for Lies, Damned Lies, And history. Recommended.

Wonderful short story - Absolutely Love the St Mary’s series !

Highly recommend The Chronicles of St Mary's series - always waiting for the next book or novella to come out !
A crazy good series - it’s a roller coaster ride with very funny & clever dialogue - & Zara Ramm delivers it beautifully - she is an amazing narrator !
Do yourself a favor & read the series . Actually I highly recommend anything by Jodi Taylor - the Frogmorton Farm books as well as the new series - White Silence !

The Great St. Mary's Day Out

Another fun novella! Lots of laughs! Dr. Bairstow, Max, Shakespeare, Hamlet, a ghost, and Markham! Along with other assorted disaster magnets. What could possibly go wrong?

Chock full of fun

Jodi Taylor can pack a lot of action and fun into one and a half hours. She is a talented writer and a marvelous wit. This story is great - one of the best of her short stories. Taylor can paint a crystal clear picture with just a few words, but narrator Zara Ramm can really make those words zing. Her narration of the St. Mary's Chronicles stories is perfection.

In this story almost the entire St. Mary's gang have gone to England in to view in real time the performance of Hamlet in which the great bard William Shakespeare himself is performing the ghost. Almost all of them get into big trouble, including the head of St. Mary's who has gone to sit in the best seats in the house. Markham literally gets into the act. Great fun.

Shakespearean level mayhem done St Mary’s style

Only the inmates, ahem, members of the St Mary’s team can create mayhem on a Shakespearean level when they take a group outing to 1601 London to see Hamlet performed at the Globe Theatre with The Bard himself as the Ghost.
What does it say when Max and Lingoss are the responsible ones, staying put and recording the performance? This includes a group headed by Dr Bairstow, Major Guthrie, Mrs Marks, and Mrs Enderby!
Ramm is commendable as narrator.

St. Mary's is the dog's bollocks.

There's feelgood books and then there's feeling absolutely giddy with delight books. This short story is of the latter kind.
'Nuff said.
