À propos de cet audio

It's been months since the day we stood above that empty grave that stunk of burnt flesh and secrets. All of us were dressed to the nines, one of us wearing a wedding dress, a day that was supposed to mark the beginning of a new adventure. It marked the bitter end of our vengeance.

We have done things that have marked our souls for eternity. But before we get there, we have to go back. Back to where it all started. The place I could find in my sleep.

Hollow Heights University in the macabre, somber seaside town of Ponderosa Springs. A college for prestigious, wealthy children to receive the highest education. A town drowning in treachery and secrets that became our damnation. But it wasn't the forest surrounding the grounds or even the mysterious hidden mausoleum that haunted me.

It was them. The ones that lurked in the night, things so wicked, so twisted, so evil, they would become the rulers of my nightmares. The Hollow Boys. One wrong move and I landed myself directly in their line of fire.

This is not a story about love, it is not a story of happy endings. Love just happened to blossom in our sorrows, in our pain, our fear, our blood.

Every terrible thing they ever did, we watched, we helped, we loved them anyway. Some run from their monsters, we fell in love with ours.

Contains mature themes.

Okay. So I tried to read this book months ago but couldn’t do it. I ran out of credit’s and so I decided to try this one again. Second time around, it is still hard to get through. It’s just kinda boring.
Despite the description saying this is a dark romance (there are definitely dark things going on) this book really focused on the emotions of a bunch of young individuals, trying to find out answers, not only about the death of a friend but also about feelings they haven’t ever experienced before. It’s a lot of monologuing about how one person is attracted to the other but also feelings they misunderstand due to lack of those feelings growing up. The main two in this book, Alistair and Blair, have a love/hate relationship. Lots of hate in the beginning due to wrongful accusations on Alastair’s part then the love in the middle forming but Alastair not knowing what love is … bla blah bla. Heart break from him pushing Blair away… you get the picture.
I have read other reviews saying some of the same thing but also saying the second book, which is Rook and Saige’s story I believe, is way better. Better reading, better plot, so on and so forth. So hang in there!!

So try and get through this book, if it peaked your interest in the first place because I believe it only gets better after this book but it needs to be read first in order to see the progress of the story as a whole. A lot going on and things still need to be discovered, and people need to be found.

Happy reading!
