She asks me to do a makeover photoshoot for the magazine I work for.
The night before the shoot, I am saved from an awkward situation by some hot businessman who takes pity on me. Pity. Not exactly the romantic meet-cute that one might hope for. But after the shoot, I get on the subway looking like Malibu Barbie, and I stumble into the same guy! Only, he doesn't recognize me at all.
Then my boss moves the goal post. I can have my column so long as the first article is on her topic: How to Get a Guy to Fall in Love. I hate the idea. It's so cheap, so manipulative. Basically, my boss wants me to make a guy fall for me using tricks from the internet.
What kind of guy deserves that? Then I think back to the shallow guy who only wanted to date me when I had hair extensions, several layers of makeup, and a revealing dress to show off the goods.
Now, with the help of my sisters I'm on a mission to get Mr. Businessman to fall head over heels for me.
