À propos de cet audio

#1 New York Times bestselling author Stephen King’s terrifying novella about a town engulfed in a dense, mysterious mist—as humanity makes its last stand against unholy destruction—now available as a stand-alone edition.

David Drayton, his son Billy, and their neighbor Brent Norton head to the local grocery store to replenish supplies following a freak storm. Once there, they and other local citizens are trapped by a strange mist that has enveloped the town and in which strange creatures are lurking. As the mist takes its toll on the nerves of those trapped in the store, a religious zealot, Mrs. Carmody begins to play on their fears to convince them that this is God’s vengeance for their sins and that a sacrifice must be made and two groups—those for and those against—are aligned. When it is realized that staying in the store may prove fatal, a small group including the Draytons, store employee Ollie Weeks, Amanda Dumfries, Irene Reppler, and Dan Miller attempt to make their escape. They find that what’s “out there” may be worse than what they left behind.

Originally published in King's acclaimed collection, Skeleton Crew, this exhilarating novella proves why Stephen King is a master storyteller in short form.

I loved The Mist! Will Patton is an excellent narrator! Have listened to him narrate a few SK books and he is fantastic every time! I saw the movie years ago but as always, the book is better! I want to watch the movie again now that I've read the book and also watch the tv mini series on Netflix!

The Mist review

I had watched the movie when it came out in 2007, and I really really hated the ending. Like really hated it. It made me angry every time I though about it. I used it as an example of dumb movie endings for years.

The book ends very differently, and while I still find it a bit unsatisfying, it's better than the movie.

Different from the Movie

it's not bad . just not as good as his other works such as the stand or it.

Pretty slim storyline.

Short and sweet. Reccomended all around to any fans of Lovecraft or Horror in general.

Narration - well done all around and clear distinction between characters. It gives the air of a grizzled older man recounting a terrifying ordeal from his past and really that seems to be the theme of the story anyway. The only thing that rubbed me wrong but it still fit well was Billy's voice but that hardly brings down the performance.

Story - Horrifying tales always bring interesting methods of being told. This story, although it doesn't wring you with suspense, it have great descriptors in its telling of the lovecraftian esq horrors that spring upon an unassuming middle America through the eyes of a group stuck within the confines of the most.
