love this series!

I cannot wait until book 14 comes out. I am now caught upon this series and am sad to have to wait for this author to write the new book.. I only wish these books were 30 hrs long instead of 10.

A perfect betrayal to his fans

What a disappointment! After purchasing 26 mark tufo books and loving every one, mark tufo produced a book with a storyline that just stops dead. Like a book with the last chapter ripped out. He and his publishers should be ashamed of themselves. What a cop out. Wouldn’t recommend this to anyone, and advised my sis, also an ardent fan, not to purchase it because of the disappointment it would be. Sean Runnette still does an amazing job, but can only do so much with this instalment. Not sure I’ll purchase any more.

The best so far!

This book is quite possibly the best in the series so far!! Gripping and great plot turns. Just when you thought the story might be coming to an end <sad face> it ends up opening up a multitude of possibility. This series is a must read!

Too Much Filler

I enjoyed listening to the entire series so far, including the Lycan Fallout series. After listening to the last installment of this series, when the book finished I was left thinking, NOTHING much happened, when is the story going to start. it felt like over 90% of the story was filler detailing the background of how the thought process of the thoughts of the main character came to fruition (which is usually quite entertaining in itself). Still, even though it was enjoyable to listen to, I was left feeling like the author was trying to stretch 1 book into 2 or 3 books.

Feels half done

Feels like it ended halfway through a normal story arc, otherwise the usual good story and narration.

Entertaining... and yet...

As usual, Mark writes a great story and Sean brings the characters to life masterfully. I swear that when I read ZF1 I never saw the series goign in this direction. We've got intelligent zombies, talking zombie apes, vampires, magic men from other places... and Denoe.

But okay, I feel like I need to vent a smidge. one thing that keeps sort of tweaking me is how Mark continues to fluctuate the power of the vampires. i.e. Tommy and mike. In one scene, it's cold and rainy and they're fine, and in another, there's a real danger of dying from frost bite. in book 7, Mike picks up BT in his arms and jumps over a fence, and in this book, both he "and" Tommy can barely pick him up?

My point is - where's the consistency? why can't Mike just embrace his vampireness? Or at least the parts that would help him, like super human strength. it's like every time there's a physical conflict, Mike barely survies it. yet he should be able to overwhelm just about anybody, even BT!? And why are the vampires of different powers? What makes Payne so powerful and Tommy not? Or Tommy more powerful than Mike? This is a complaint that carries over to the LF series, too. At least there Mike kinda gets to flex his vampness... but even so, it's never a blow out.

Just once or twice, i'd like to see Mike just blow out a confrontation rather than the author limiting his abilities simply to draw out the drama and stakes. Sorry, just had to say this :)

But still, I've purchased just about every one of Mark's books. Hope someday he does the same for me!

Micheal Talbot only if he were real

I can't help but give thanks to my favorite author! I can't help it but I'm in love with Micheal Talbot! this character is how every man should be like. macho sweet honorable silly crazy and never turns away from doing what is right even if he may lose his life. I can't help but crack up at his antics. the opening dialogue between him and BT had me in stitches at a time when I so needed laughter in my life. Mark Tufo is a great man too has answered a couple emails I sent him was very friendly. thank you mister Tufo please continue Micheal's life I look forward eagerly for your next installment of all things EM-T. play on words

The plot thickens..

I absolutely love this series ZFO!! I found it very difficult as usual to stop listening when I needed to take breaks or do work. As usual Sean’s story telling of the novel is spot on! I can’t think of a better narrator for the job. Great story beginning middle and end, classically leaving the reader on edge waiting for book 14. The only thing I was disappointed in was the lack of vampire portions of the story. Tommy being full vampire and his abilities muted and Mike being half vampire was never even touched upon anywhere in the novel. Hinted at but never spoken of. Glad to see Iggy the zombie gorilla was brought back into the fray, especially to deal out some much needed justice. Can’t wait to hear installment number 14 and I hope more of a vampire mix is brought into the storyline as the two(vampire and zombie) go great together in my opinion! Just like everybody else, I can’t wait to hear about Vivian getting hers!

Love mark and Sean

Only dislike is i was constantly wondering what happened to the other non Talbots kids. I feel like there should’ve been some side note on April and the other kids. Where are they living?

Another Filler Book!!!

Come on Mark! You can't just give me two filler books in a row. I love the story and would love to start closing out some of these storylines. It kills me to not want to get the books and just wait till a few come out. I forgot all about that zombie monkey, I thought he just up and died. But there he was just hanging out by zombies and didn't get swarmed at the behest of the smart zombies. I'm sorry but it's just too many storylines in the book to get any real progression. I like the series but I need some of these storylines to get to there logical end. Not saying rush the ones that need time to develop but that monkey/ ape / gorilla zombie should have been removed from the story. Also the vampire! why is she just hanging around like she is waiting for a good opportunity? Isn't she more powerful than Tommy and Mike? She should have made her move like 4 books ago! Sorry, I had to vent a little bit. I do love the series but please start wrapping up some of the loose ends.
