À propos de cet audio

When it comes to heists, Parker believes in some cardinal rules. On this job, he breaks two of them: never bring a dame along - especially not one you like - and never, ever, work with amateurs. Nevertheless, with the help of a creep named Billy, and the lure of a classy widow, he agrees to set up a heist of a coin convention. But Billy’s a rookie with no idea how to pull off a score, and the lady soon becomes a major distraction. The Rare Coin Score marks the first appearance of Claire, who will steal Parker’s heister’s heart - while together they steal two million dollars’ worth of coins.

John Chancer retakes the reigns narrating the Parker series after taking a break from books 5-8, and jumps right back into the gritty world of our antihero; he brings a different delivery that makes the world a little grittier, despite his often upbeat narration. This one has a forward from Lucy Sante (New York Review of Books), that brilliantly explains the art and appeal of the genre as a whole. In this one, Parker is restless and can’t seem to focus; it causes him to make some rookie mistakes he would never make otherwise (bringing a lover on a heist, and working with amateurs), and we are off to the races. Can Parker survive the inevitable mistakes and double-crosses we all know are bound to occur…and get the girl? This one has a fun cast of characters, an interesting build, a wild climax, and a cliffhanger ending that leaves you wanting more.
