Publisher's Summary

Boss is back.

Having lost both a hand and his entire team when Jim Powell and his friends attacked the power plant, Boss is obsessed with revenge. He had no idea who the men were, but he’s determined to launch a search for them until his command makes it clear that his mission of vengeance is not a priority.

Undeterred, Boss arrives at a covert method of engaging the entire population of southwest Virginia in his hunt for the insurgents. He has fliers scattered in the communities around the power plant offering a reward of food and ammunition for the live capture of the lone man whose image was caught by a security camera.

The rampant rumors surrounding the attack at the plant work against Jim. His name is whispered everywhere that people gather. Almost overnight, he and his friends find themselves under attack from desperate neighbors determined to collect the reward.

better than I thought

This was really engaging! There was a lot of understanding of where people were at emotionally and relationship wise. It is fascinating to see how things may unfold!

enjoyable story

Overall an enjoyable story. Narration was great. a few funny moments. The end was a bit lacking but overall I'd still recommend this book if you've been listening to the rest of the series.

So very disappointed . . .

I have really loved this series until now. This book was such a disappointment. After everything this group has been through, in this book they still come across as naive and and just plain stupid. I just wish I could get the 8+ hours back.

i hope this isn't the end

F. Horton did it again. Great storyline, well thought out and action packed. The characters and plotline was consistent with the previous novels. This book was different in regards to the climatic ending and momentum torward finally getting some peace in "the Valley". I hope it doesn't end here.... One of my all time favorite series!

interesting read

altgough I am probably spoiled by the quality of the story up until now I was somewhat left short with the story. seemed to have left my flat, not begging for more like the previous books.

I will recommend the entire series even this particular book bit I would have to add a caveat to this specific book as dont judge the entire series off of this one book.

E*P*I*C!!!!

Nice finale Franklin! As always, Kevin did a masterful job of narrating. I hate to see the last of Jim, Ellen and their family, Lloyd, Randi and the rest of the tribe. Thank you letting me share their world!!

Too Much Boss

For me, far too much time spent on "Boss," as he was a character I cared little about. Starting this book with this character, at the point in which it did, was fine. But I had little interest in his background or what he did after the opening scene. Overall, too much time was spent on this character. I can understand the need for the author to explore other aspects of the story, as by book 7, there's a lot of the same kind of things happening with the characters.

Having listened to a number of books by the author, I've noticed that he has a way of embedding into his stories lessons on what can happen if you don't plan thoroughly, or what not to do in situations. These were well done and didn't sound or come off like lessons from a manual of what to do and not do (unlike many other authors). This perspective of the "unlikeable" actions worked well with the story.

The End To A Great Story

This was a very good story from start to finish. I really enjoyed it. The narrator is really good at telling the story.

Blah, blah, blah.

Cheap story and way to much detail, a pile of logs will do. I dont need to know the maximum details of the scenery, work harder on the story. No more books in this series please.
