Taliyah is a fierce-as-can-be harpy who is determined to slay her new, godlike husband, Roc, after her captures and imprisons her people. Sparks fly from the very beginning as they bicker, fight, and seduce each other through a marriage meant to be a sacrifice.
Taliyah had a ton of sass and bite, though I did enjoy her as a character. Roc was just as broody and ferocious as he was built up to be. These two were quite the power couple, though I found their actual romance to move way too quickly. This is partly due to a trope revealed later in the book, but I still had fun with it.
The world building is based off mythology and isn’t overly complex, as most readers will be looking for romance. And it is VERY spicy. So if you are looking for a thrilling, erotic read, THE WARLORD has you covered!
