Publisher's Summary

An impossible-to-pause domestic thriller about secrets and revenge, told from the perspectives of a husband and wife who are the most perfect, and the most dangerous, match for each other.

Rebecca didn’t know love was possible until she met Paul, a successful, charismatic, married man with a past as dark as her own. Their pain drew them together with an irresistible magnetism; they sensed they were each other’s ideal (and perhaps only) match.

But 20 years later, Paul and Rebecca are drowning as the damage and secrets that ignited their love begin to consume their marriage. Paul is cheating on Rebecca, and his affair gets messy fast. His mistress is stalking them with growing audacity when Rebecca discovers Paul’s elaborate plan to build a new life without her. Though Rebecca is spiraling into an opiate addiction, it doesn’t stop her from coming up with a devious plot of her own, and this one could end absolutely everything.

What follows is an unpredictable and stylish game of cat and mouse - a shocking tale of unfaithfulness and unreliability that will keep you racing until the final twist and make you wonder how well you really know your spouse.

Narrated by Erin Bennett, Mark Deakins, George Newbern, Nicol Zanarella, Mike Chamberlain, and Will Damron.

What the critics say

“From its seize-you-by-throat opening to that jack-in-the-box finale, this slick, sleek thriller held me breathless. Psychological suspense at its brightest and boldest.” (A.J. Finn, number-one New York Times best-selling author of The Woman in the Window)

“A marital saga so pitch-black it makes Gone Girl look like the romance of the decade... [The Woman Inside] resembles past smashes like Big Little Lies and The Woman in the Window.” (Entertainment Weekly

“This twisted domestic thriller hasn't even hit shelves yet, but it's already being adapted as a TV series by Blumhouse, the producers of Sharp Objects. Told from the perspective of a husband and wife who are the most perfect, and possibly the most dangerous, match for one another, The Woman Inside is a dark tale of secrets, lies, unfaithfulness, and revenge that keeps readers guessing until the very end.” (Bustle

Great story start to finish, a little tragic but not in a bad way

This story is a blend between the book “Interference” by Amélie Antoine and any domestic thriller where gaslighting/suspicion/paranoia is in the mix. It’s very involved without being convoluted or confusing. You have to pay attention in the first parts to make sure you know who is telling their story. Definitely held my interest and most of the time I had no idea where the story was going next.

Pass

I bought this based on a blogger review. It was compared to the likes of “Gone Girl”. I just couldn’t get into it. It was really predictable. The ending wasn’t a huge mystery or shocking at all. I even quit listening to it and didn’t start it again for several days. I only finished it because I couldn’t stand the idea of wasting a credit.

It started off so well!

I thought this was going to be a great one. Pretty good writing. A plot full of twists... Couldn't wait to see how the story would resolve. And then...it did. With a bunch of ridiculous explanations that seemed more fit for Brilliance Audio than Penguin! SO disappointed.
