Publisher's Summary

When vengeance strikes....

You don’t know me, but I know you.

I’m the shadow that creeps behind you without notice.

The moment you see me, you’re dead.

An assassin. A killer. A nobody.

Until I became somebody.

I’ll make everyone who reduced me to a shadow pay.

To do that, I’m willing to risk everything.

Everything except for my reluctant wife.

Rai Sokolov can show me her worst, but this will only end when death does us part.

The road to the throne is paved with loss, betrayal, and blood baths.

To win, we go all in.

Our lives included.

Throne of Vengeance is the conclusion of the Throne Duet and cannot be listened to on its own.

SPECTACULAR STORYTELLING.. & 5 STAR NARRATION ❤️

I was so looking forward to this second book in the Throne duet.. especially after the cliffhanger ending that ended the first one, and wow Kyle and Rai’s mental, physical, emotional and political games spectacularly continues here. Anger boils, blood will flow, betrayal will happen, enemies will surface and a tragic backstory will be revealed.. and through it all their trust in one another, their loyalty to each other and their love for the other will be tested. There’s an insane amount of combustible sizzles between them.. but there’s a war of revenge and survival.. so there will be tears, torture, traitors, temptations and truths too. It’s fantastic, it’s action-packed, it’s hot, it’s suspenseful and the drama between them deliciously ebbs and flows perfectly. Bravo Ms Kent.. and bravo to Shane and Vanessa too because their spectacular dual POV narration brought the cast of characters to life, they were impressively on-point with the various accents and genders and their tempo and nuances made this friction-filled Mafia love story shine. WORTH A CREDIT? Oh boy, absolutely 100% yes.

Kyle's Vengeance

This book was great! At times, I did not find Rai very likeable but she got better. She was a very strong-willed woman who did everything, no matter what, to protect the Brotherhood. She was even willing to give up and even kill Kyle. She drugs Kyle to subdue him. Vlad beats Kyle so bad when Rai informed him of Kyle's real plans for the Russians that she overheard. Of course, Kyle had his own agenda and we find out more about him and why he is the way he is in this book. Kyle is like a dog with a bone on his mission. There is an interesting part of the story when, during an attack, the Albanians kidnap Rai and one of the guards, Alexander, who looks very feminine. They usually only kidnap women for their men to use and to break. What a surprise when Rai learns about Alexander's secret. This book put us through a lot to get to the HEA and ends with two great epilogues. Shane East and Vanessa Edwin did an awesome job with the narration.

Would have been 5 stars BUT

I'm undecided. I don't know... the pill swap and Kyles idiotic behavior drove me nuts. The the domestic bliss ending was just silly along with all the unanswered questions that were piled on at the end (why?).

Another star performance

The cliffhanger from book one set the shocking initial storyline of this part two. Rai is in control! Also, in this part more of Kyle’s history is explained, his childhood beginnings, while I found Rai more cunning. The story was delivered at a deliberate pace. The chemistry between the characters is strong and tangible, even if unwanted by Rai at time. I found the steam mildly brewing, not as hot at the expense of backstory and inner monologue. Kyle, however, is the strong alpha I enjoy, his infatuation with Rai becoming increasingly dominating. And the story unfolds.

Without words to describe the performance. The voice actors delivered a visual picture with their narration — accents, intonation, emotion. Shane East’s voice — the velvety way it sounds, simply commanding, and his range is flawless. Vanessa Edwin recited a star performance with her skills with accents and intonations. Despite not being duet narration, they definitely brought the story to life, I think better than I had read the book. Overall, great delivery on this arranged marriage, mafia story.

Wonderful as always

I enjoyed this duet as I do all Rina Kent book. While I loved Kyle, Ry annoyed me a bit to often. Glad she finally came around. I have so many unanswered questions though. Maybe they will come out in future books. 🤔 Enjoyed it regardless. Shane and Vanessa did a fantastic job with narration!

Great ending

This book was filled with violence, betrayal and sex. Rai and Kyle still were fighting , but had great chemistry. The Russians and Irish were still trying to gather groups for war. In the end they had an HEA.
I absolutely loved this duet ❤

Kyle saying "Princess" sounded so sinful!

This review is for both books in this duet.

When Kyle and Rai are wed in an arranged mafia marriage, bother have ulterior motives for agreeing to it. Kyle has scores to settle, and Rai wants to cement her seat at the table of the leaders of the Sokolov family. Women aren't supposed to be leaders, but Rai learned from her grandfather how to attain and use power to get what she wants. As Kyle and Rai play a dangerous game of cat and mouse with each other, they fight to acknowledge their growing attraction to one another, while not trusting their spouse. While they may have some steamy days and nights, it's all purely physical, and something expected of a married couple. Right? Rivalries and peace deals between mafia families are made, and no one trusts no one, but the Sokolov family must all work together to maintain their power.

The second story is much more intense, and full of action. This was a mafia tale full of layers and complicated characters. I loved how the characters weren't just good or bad; they are looking out for just themselves, and some for others they care for, or who can help them. Some people aren't who you think they are; but some are exactly who you think they are. A thrill ride from start to finish. Questions are answered, but some aren't, and you're left wondering...

Shane East and Vanessa Edwin did such a wonderful job w/the narration. This was my first Rina Kent book, and I definitely will be reading more of her work.

Wow! Super!

Throne of Vengeance, book 2 in the Throne Duet, is the powerful and passion-filled addition and conclusion to Throne of Power. This is a must read not only for the enticing and gripping love story that it is, but also for the amazing narration passionately performed by Venessa Edwin and Shane East. These are the first of Rina Kent that I have read and will surely read more of this Fabulous storyteller!
