Publisher's Summary

President-elect Donald J. Trump lays out his professional and personal worldview in this classic work—a firsthand account of the rise of America's foremost deal-maker.

"I like thinking big. I always have. To me it's very simple: If you're going to be thinking anyway, you might as well think big." —Donald J. Trump

Here is Trump in action—how he runs his organization and how he runs his life—as he meets the people he needs to meet, chats with family and friends, clashes with enemies, and challenges conventional thinking. But even a maverick plays by rules, and Trump has formulated time-tested guidelines for success. He isolates the common elements in his greatest accomplishments; he shatters myths; he names names, spells out the zeros, and fully reveals the deal-maker's art. And throughout, Trump talks—really talks—about how he does it. Trump: The Art of the Deal is an unguarded look at the mind of a brilliant entrepreneur—the ultimate read for anyone interested in the man behind the spotlight.

Surprisingly a very entertaining book

I wasn't sure what to expect. But turned out to be a great listen. Trump and Schwartz simply take you through the history of Trumps major real estate deals in a somewhat chronological order. Starting with his origins working with his dad building low-income housing in the bronx, all the way to Trump Tower. Politics aside (and they mostly are in this book) its a great story.

The narrator (Kaleo Griffith) did a great job making trumps words (which are written in the first person) come to life. As many know, Trump has a very unique way of talking and writing.. maybe its a new york thing? in any case the narration was good.

Story for learning not entertainment

Narrator did an excellent job. Helpful in getting to know Mr. Trump and how he thinks. Several principles he applies are motivating to me. Not for entertainment, concentration required.

A book from the 80s

The first chapitre is 1 hours of Kaleo Griffith that read trump schedule... it was interesting to see trumps vision of his deal that he made in the 80s.

Fantastic book, no matter how you feel about Trump

I really enjoyed the book, plus the narration was top notch. He wrote this before he had bad luck in business and personal life in the early 90s but its a good look into his life before that time.
I recommend the book, especially now that the guy is President of America and all.

Great Insight!

I wanted to “read” this book as a way to get insight into how our President operates when dealing with others. It was a good listen and provided the insight!

My Audible purchases are all business, leadership and finance books and this fit right in. Recommend!

What’s the big deal!!

When I was first coming into this book I was thinking I was going to learn about how Trump as made his fortune on this 11 key principles that you learn in the book but, instead I was in for a more full back story on Trumps life and what he has done and all the deals his was able to make. In my opinion that was just as important as the key principles of making a great deal.
