Publisher's Summary

A sinister phone call in the middle of the night throws tearoom sleuth, Gemma Rose, straight into the heart of a new murder - featuring a mysterious killing in the cloisters of an old Oxford college. The investigation points to scandals and feuds within the University, but Gemma finds unexpected clues popping up in her little Cotswolds village as she sets out to solve the mystery with the help of her mischievous tabby cat, Muesli. Meanwhile, her quaint English tearoom is in trouble, with kitchen explosions galore and a missing pastry chef...and her love life is in turmoil as she struggles to decide between the dashing Dr Lincoln Green and her old college flame, sexy CID detective Devlin O'Connor. Add an exasperating mother driving her as nutty as a fruitcake and the nosy Old Biddies meddling at every turn...can Gemma solve the mystery and save her best friend from a life behind bars?

Great series to listen to

I like how the writer works the plot is not easily guessed. Each series has a colourful older character with the 4 older ladies in this set I have laughed out loud many times.

I love this series! but I think acting out peoples accents is unnecessary and it's actually racist.

Narration makes the story

I enjoyed this book and did not spot the killer until the very end. The only negative is when the narrator "meows" for the cat. For some reason it sets my teeth on edge - and I like cats? Just a personal quirk.

I cannot stop listening to the Oxford Tearoom Mysteries

It takes an incredible talent to write a compelling murder mystery and still manage to keep it light and fun. The Oxford Tearoom Mysteries audio is what you get when you combine wonderful characters, amazing narration and an author whose execution is second to none.

Not my favorite

I read the prequel, plus books one and two and loved them. I found myself kind of bored in book three. I’m considering book four because I love cats... but on second thought that’s the only annoying sound the narrator makes - Musely’s Meow... I highly recommend the first couple of books in this series. Unfortunately this one just fell flat for me.

I loved it

This was the first book by H.Y. Hanna that I have listened to. I thought that Pearl Hewitt did an exceptionally good job with her performance of the various characters. I would classify this listen as a cozy mystery to me instead of nail bitter. I enjoyed the story. I especially loved the kitty antics and the way they were performed. Pearl Hewitt is very talented. This book is part of a series and I found it to be a good standalone. I was voluntarily provided with this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, narrator, and/or publisher. My review is not a synopsis of the book, but rather my opinion of it.

I almost passed series b/c of the cover pic....

it just looks like it's advertising to 10-year-old girls maybe. But they are great books. I am so glad I gave it a listen because it's really fun. . Great cozy mysteries in a beautiful setting (Oxford, England) and charming characters. . I wish they were a little longer!

Kill that damn cat

I love this series, and I adore animals, but that f’n cat needs to go. Whoever thought it was a good idea for the narrator to “meow” like a cat is a Moron! This is annoying to the point of struggling to continue listening.

A New Chef

Another FUN Oxford mystery at Gemma’s Tea Room.
I love the characters that continue on with each book. This is my third book.
Cozy British mystery that’s light and easy, but I wasn’t able to guess the ending.
I’ll enjoy another soon. The reader is just right for the stories.
