Story
Suddenly in the spotlight, 24-year-old Hannah Brown realized that she wasn’t sure what she wanted. After years of competing in beauty pageants, and then starring on The Bachelorette and Dancing with the Stars, she had become incredibly visible. There she was, in her early twenties, with millions around the world examining and weighing in on her every decision. She found herself wondering what it would mean to live on her terms. What it would mean to stop seeking approval from others and decide - for the first time - what it was she wanted from her own life.

You’ve read the headlines, but you don’t know Jamie Lynn Spears. The world first met Jamie Lynn as a child star, when it was her job to perform, both on set and for the press. She spent years escaping into different characters - on All That, Zoey 101, and even in the role as Britney’s kid sister. But as she grew up, faced a teen pregnancy, raised her daughter on her own, pursued a career, and learned to stand on her own two feet, the real Jamie Lynn started to take center stage - a raw, blemished, and imperfect woman, standing in her own power.

Ever since she was a child, every aspect of Julia Haart’s life—what she wore, what she ate, what she thought—was controlled by the dictates of ultra-Orthodox Judaism. At 19, after a lifetime spent caring for her seven younger siblings, she was married off to a man she barely knew. For the next 23 years, her marriage would rule her life. Eventually, when Haart’s younger daughter, Miriam, started to innocently question why she wasn’t allowed to sing in public, run in shorts, or ride a bike without being covered from neck to knee, Haart reached a breaking point.

What does “Give them Lala” mean? It means giving the truest, most honest version of yourself to the world. It means being authentic, bold, adventurous, and having an unapologetic approach to life. Hollywood is where Lauren Burningham, aspiring actress from Utah, fully embraced her alter-ego Lala Kent, entrepreneur, entertainer, and film and television star. Some say she’s rude; Lala says she claps back. Some say she’s too bold; Lala knows she’s reality TV gold. Truth is, without giving them Lala, Lauren could never have become the woman she is today.

I listened to this book straight through! What a fantastic story. Heartfelt, funny, sad, witty! So many emotions in one story. And the narration? Chrishell telling us about her own journey makes this audio book even better. memoir or self help?
I really like Chrishelle on Netflix and was excited to see she had a book. I assumed it was a memior but it was that and kind of a self help book which I found strange. Plus she included "Construction Tips" which were so cheesy. I would have enjoyed learning more about her and her interpersonal relationships than her trying to teach me how to be a better person. I know that sounds harsh but the book got annoying to me. I would tell a friend to skip this one.

Absolutely wonderful!
There is so much great advice, life lessons and inspirations in this book.
I am 57 years old and felt truly inspired by everything she said and has accomplished. Her outlook on life and her belief in herself would be encouraging to anyone that reads this.
I think every teenager should read this because it would give them a different view of toughness, confidence and success. She has shown that you can still be kind, thoughtful and driven.
Chrishell told her story in the most eloquent way and we can all learn from her story. If our world behaved and thought like her, what a difference we would see.

Relatable, inspiring and heart warming like herself
Dear Chrishell, I got interested in your story after watching my favorite show Selling Sunset. I love it because it’s about powerful, successful and beautiful woman! You are my favorite character because you are so sweet and kind( I didn’t know you have Asian blood until I read your book which makes sense now why I like your look the most because I’m Asian too) Anyway I want to thank you for selflessly and bravely share your personal story with us! You were so vulnerable and honest about your humble beginnings that it really shocked me and inspired me how it is possible to achieve big dreams even when you have nothing! It taught me to cherish what I have and not create any more excuses to not move towards my goals, no matter how impossible it may sound. So I am really touched when listening to your own voice narrating your journey! I pray that you manifest the love and family you desire because you are a rock star!! Hope to see you in another show!

Good entertaining read
A good entertaining read, and maybe even some inspiration in seeing that someone can go far in life no matter where you began. Someone mentioned that it's a real estate "handbook" - Not that at all! She does compare some of life's experiences or people to houses but you don't have to be a realtor to understand that. I do watch the show and find it entertaining as well. Overall I would recommend it if you're curious about her. She's basically telling her life story. Her voice is easy to listen to as well.
