About this listen
Boundaries are the ways we communicate our needs. They are what allow us to feel safe among strangers, in everyday interactions, and in our closest relationships. When we have healthy boundaries, we have a strong foundation in an uncertain world. And when someone crosses your boundaries, or you cross someone else’s, the result range from unsettling to catastrophic.
In this audiobook, best-selling author Dr. Faith Harper offers a full understanding of issues of boundaries and consent, how we can communicate and listen more effectively, and how to survive and move on from situations where our boundaries are violated.
Along the way, you’ll learn when and how to effectively say “no” (and “yes”), troubleshoot conflict, and respect your own and others’ boundaries like a pro. You’ll be amazed at how much these skills improve your relationships with friends, strangers, coworkers, and loved ones.

- the expletives detracted from my ability to thoroughly enjoy this book.
(I know, I saw the title, and I appreciate the conversational language of the book, but I would have been more engaged w/out all the f*cks and sh*t)
- some of the cultural / contemporary colloquialisms made me feel as though I am not the intended audience for this book, and they were an unnecessary complication in the midst of explanations.
Otherwise, the book contains valuable information, as I found it hard to access, I have to believe that I was not the intended audience.
it is an excellent primer or starting point for people who want to address boundary and communication issues with others.
There are pieces of NLP in the text as well as many topics covered in NVC, right down to adopting 'I feel ... statements.
I would recommend this title to people who might be interested in the mediation section near the close of the book, but I would have to insert the warning about the expletives and language.
