Publisher's Summary

Once the brightest star in the Imperium and always first among his primarch brothers, Horus has dragged the Space Marine Legions into the bloodiest conflict that the galaxy has ever seen. While their allies wage war on a thousand different fronts, the XVIth Legion descend upon the Knight world of Molech - home to the ruling House Devine, and a principle stronghold of the Imperial Army.

The forces loyal to the Emperor stand ready to defy the Warmaster, but just what could have drawn Horus to attack such a well defended planet, and what might he be willing to sacrifice to fulfill his own dark destiny?

The Battle of Molech

I loved this book the second time I listened to it, I read it too quickly the first time and was put off by the intrigues of House Divine on Molech but upon second consumption I highly recommend this book as a cornerstone of the Horus Heresy. It's a great book to listen to again if you're about to go into the Siege of Terra, and has a strong contingent of characters from the first trilogy of books - all of which develop and mature in their own ways. The battle sequences are described flawlessly and the only criticism I have is that I loved Toby Longworth's rendition of Loken so much in the first books that it was off-putting to hear the more childlike voice Gareth Armstrong uses for Loken in this book. I still love Armstrong's performance, but that is my only qualm! Also, the description of Molech as a unique planet was done superbly.

A must-read on the path to Terra

Great story that covers a lot of ground, from the imperial world and chaos that comes, to a meeting of old brothers and ... just make sure you've read some Garro first to see the Pathfinder team come together

Amazing Book, definitely worth the credits

Great voice acting by Gareth Armstrong as always. Story was amazing, won’t spoil anything but there’s quite a bit I didn’t expect.
