Story
Tom Smith used to be somebody. Now he's just another refugee, fleeing the smoking ruins of civilization. Tom and some trusted allies were able to stay one step ahead of the infected humans and escaped offshore. Now they're holed up in a safe house in coastal Virginia and it's time to break out. Between him and his objective, one of the bank's prepared evacuation camps in the Cumberland Valley, are hundreds of miles of clogged roads, burnt-out towns, and howling mobs of infected humans who know only hunger.

Story
Six kids ranging from suburban geeks to street-smart pariahs. A British captain who rarely talks and never smiles. All on the 70-foot pilothouse ketch Crosscurrent Voyager, bound on a senior summer cruise to adventure and serious fun. Except most of the kids don’t get along. And they’ll be gone all summer. And none of them have sailed before. And worst of all - because they booked at the last minute - they got the destination nobody else wanted: the frigid and remote South Georgia Islands.

Story
With human civilization annihilated by a biological zombie plague, a rag-tag fleet of yachts and freighters known as Wolf Squadron scours the Atlantic, searching for survivors. Within every abandoned liner and carrier lurks a potential horde, safety can never be taken for granted, and death and turning into one of the enemy is only a moment away. Yet every ship and town holds the flickering hope of survivors. One and two from lifeboats, a dozen from a fishing village, a few hundred wrenched by fury and fire from a ship that once housed thousands....

Story
After saving America from Middle Eastern terrorists, even Mike Harmon and the Keldara could use a vacation. Of course, the Kildar's idea of a vacation includes taking down pirates in the Singapore Straits. But when he finds computer chips designed to run nuclear reactors in the pirate booty, Harmon has a new mission thrust upon him - discover how bottom-feeding thieves got their hands on top-secret technology. The chips are headed for newly democratic Myanmar, a country vital to American interests in the region. Now Harmon finds himself in a desperate race to learn who stole the chips and why.

Story
Michael Harmon has been there and done that. Rescued co-eds, killed major terrorists, stopped nuclear assaults. Now he'd just like to kick back and relax with his harem of lovelies. Unfortunately, the world keeps turning. Mike and the Keldara are back tracking down terrorists, rogue Russian bio-scientists and the doomsday weapon to end all doomsday weapons. It's going to take some very tough, hard and nasty people to stop the end of the world. Fortunately, there's Mike Harmon.
Publisher's Summary
Original stories set in John Ringo's best-selling Black Tide Rising series.
The zombie apocalypse is here in these all-new stories from John Ringo, Sarah A. Hoyt, Michael Z. Williamson, Jody Lynn Nye, Travis S. Taylor, and many more. Sequel to the best-selling anthology Black Tide Rising.
Civilization had fallen. Everyone who survived the plague lived through the Fall, that terrible autumn when life as they had known it ended in blood and chaos.
Nuclear-attack submarines facing sudden and unimaginable crises. Paid hunters on a remote island suddenly cut off from any hope of support. Elite assassins. Never-made-it retirees. Bong-toting former soldiers. There were seven and a half billion stories of pain and suffering, courage, hope, and struggle crying out from history: Remember us.
These are their stories. These are the Voices of the Fall.

read them all.
not really a study in how to survive. But more a study of what it takes to survive. Very touching and moving stories. Flash's in time and location of the kind of people we would hope we would be when called upon

Seem to be like The Valley of Shadows
I wished that the books were more like the first 4 books. They were a good story and I fell in love with the chars But you must understand that the level of zombies will drop in large cities by 60 to 80 % due the fact that the only food for the city will be the zombies the rats and small animals will leave due to the loss of food. Without the Humans to feed them and with only the zombies to eat them. In 50 to 80 years the zombies will drop to less them 3% of what they are now due to ageing of the Zombies 120 years and there will be no zombies due to ageing (This is not magical so they will age a human will ) But I would love to read new stories of the girls and there taming of the plant. With savages pirate and stupid people trying to take over everywhere. Places like China Europe and middle east etc. etc. etc.. And they still have to grow up in the world they are living in And where is the person or persons that make the zombie vires

good mini books
good continuation of the dark tide rising series, I very much enjoyed the first four that JR came out with. did the 5th book that follows uncle Tom around, it's worth doing but if you are expecting the same as the first four that follow she wolf and sea wolf then you may be disappointed. all in all, this sequel is well worth the read. it tells the stories from various land base survivors.
side note on narrators, Tristan Morris is a favorite of mine, he tells a story like no other. the lady isn't my favorite, but she only does a couple of the short stories. in her defense, it's hard to beat an 'on point' narrator once you've heard them.
get the book, enjoy the stories.. my opinion is that it is worth it :)

Excellent
Whether you are new to the Black Tide Rising universe or have read all the previous books, this is a good one. There are new stories and some new looks from a different perspective at incidents from other books. Well written by some of the best known names in modern science fiction. Good enough for me to add both the hard cover and audible to my library.
