And in a small town, on an even smaller farm, it's hard to keep your distance. It's even harder to keep that friction from turning to fire. But keeping my distance? That might be the biggest struggle of all.

beautiful start to a new series
whispers of you is such a beautiful start to catherine cowles’ new series (lost and found series). wren and holt’s story is so beautiful and heartwarming. i fell in love with the writing and characters. the prologue had me hooked and on the edge of my seat. i felt all the emotions throughout the book, all the swoony romantic moments intertwined with suspense.
wren and holt have dreamt of a future together since they were young. the life they envisioned crumbled right before their eyes when tragedy strikes. holt is consumed by guilt and decides to leave town, while wren is left alone to pick up the broken pieces. after 10 years of running from that tragic day, holt moves back home in hopes of making amends with his family and having a second chance with wren.
no matter the distance and time apart, their hearts were beating for each other. they needed each other to stay grounded, nurse their broken hearts, and heal from the pain. i love wren’s strength and resilience & holt’s protective nature. his determination to never let wren down had me rooting for them. i also loved holt’s family. their interactions reminded me of the eaton’s from elsie silvers’ books. the lighthearted jokes & banters had me laughing out loud!
i highly recommend listening to the audiobook! it has the best narration with zachary webber and andi arndt. they were the perfect fit for wren and holt. they breathed life into the characters and added so much more to the story. hearing the emotions in the narration made my heart ache and soar. the audiobook simply made me love the book even more!
