About this listen

Award-winning actress Drew Barrymore shares funny, insightful, and profound stories from her past and present told from the place of happiness she's achieved today.

Wildflower is a portrait of Drew's life in stories as she looks back on the adventures, challenges, and incredible experiences of her earlier years. It includes tales of living on her own at 14 (and how laundry may have saved her life), getting stuck in a gas station overhang on a cross country road trip, saying goodbye to her father in a way only he could have understood, and many more adventures and lessons that have led her to the successful, happy, and healthy place she is today. It is the first book Drew has written about her life since the age of 14.

Drew states herself at the beginning of the book that she is not a writer and that this book jumps around a lot. This is true and sometimes can get a bit confusing but not a big deal since there isn't a detailed storyline to follow. I have always liked Drew Barrymore so it was interesting to hear these stories from her perspective. One thing I didn't like about this book is sometimes when she is re-telling a story she YELLS into the microphone! I had to turn the volume way down a bunch of times.

Oye! I read the reviews before and the telling is still a lot. Definitely not for earbuds, which was annoying because I wanted to listen to this as much as possible. Love Drew and her story, but the yelling angered me.

Why is she Screaming?

This audible exactly represents how I think Drew Barrymore would be in person. Bubbly, optimistic, neurotic. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
