In a world without, hunger may be as deadly as zombies.

With their Safe Zone overrun by the undead, taking refuge in the mountains seems like the safest bet for Rose, Tom, and the other survivors. There's one catch, however—between last spring's human exodus and a neighboring group's stockpiles, there's no food left to scavenge.

They know to be wary of people and zombies, but a new adversary proves itself just as relentless—hunger. Supplies are slim in the wilderness, and living off the land is easier said than done. This is the best series I’ve ever read! I adore each character and the narrators are perfect. If you are looking for a series that will make you laugh aloud, grasp, cheer and cry do yourself a favour and read this series.

SLF writes deep characters and real places! I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every book, but I was especially waiting for this one as the Cascadia series is my favourite. You will NOT regret spending a credit on this book or any of the others.

So well written! I found the groups situation realistic. I had tears sometimes but as always Sarah Lyons Fleming has a great sense of humor so I also LOL. Im sad I finished the book but I am planning on listening to all the series again. The performers were truly amazing...wow!!
Oh! I should also note that I so appreciated the diversity of each character.

Sarah Lyons Fleming does not disappoint! The wait for this was killer, but so worth it!

It was definitely one too pull in your heart strings. Things were much different this time around compared to how the other groups in her other series were making out. It definitely put things in to a more realistic scenario I think and I loved it. Even though it was heart breaking. Lol

I pre order these books and slurp them up when they become available. They are so good! Full of suspense and drama with twists and turns. There is no guarantee that your favorite character is going to make it to the end.

This one was tough and emotional but so good. I couldn’t wait to get it and now it’s done. I may wait a week and listen again!

I enjoyed this instalment of the series. Some satisfying action and the storyline around foraging and hunger seemed realistic. But otherwise a bit tedious and sentimental.

I was slowly drawn in to each characters, feelings, and thoughts, and it also added a whole new depth of character than usual. I could feel the journey each character made through their personal, life dealing with this horrible time, it was really quite the journey The narrators were perfect for the story as well. So worth the read.
