A Little Bit About Memphis Soul

  • Summary

  • This episode is a throwback.  We love listening to different versions of songs.  In this episode we share a quick review of Me and Mrs. Jones, the classic hit by Billy Paul, and contrast it with the version by The Dramatics, a Memphis Soul group from Stax.  Then, we talk Memphis Soul from the label HI Records that recorded such legends as Al Green.  We also had a conversation with our friend Terry Ferguson (Prof. T. Love) from A BOWL OF SOUL -- one of our favorite people -- back in 2020.  She and Steve had a great conversation about music -- each one adding their own dimension to the conversation.
