  • TJ Oshie on the Capitals Season & Team USA Memories
    Dec 19 2025

Welcome to Daily Faceoff Live with Tyler Yaremchuk and Carter Hutton!

We start the show with some defenders who are dominating the league this season. Jakob Chychrun is showing off his stellar two-way play in Washington and Zach Werenski may be the most underrated defender in the NHL out in Columbus. Has Chychrun's play put him in the driver's seat to make Team Canada? Can Werenski's strong play carry over to the International stage for the Olympics with Team USA?

After being acquired by the Edmonton Oilers, the biggest concern surrounding Tristan Jarry was his inability to stay healthy for 82 games. The Oilers' netminder left last night's game with a lower-body injury. Is concern renewed for the Oilers crease troubles and can Connor McDavid's recent hot streak carry the Oilers despite questions in goal?

With the holiday roster freeze fast approaching rumours continue to swirl around some teams and players. Will the Kraken move Mason Marchment to a contender? Could Alex Lyon's days in Buffalo be numbered?

Next, Stanley Cup champion TJ Oshie joins the show to talk about his career, the Olympics, the World Juniors, and the Washington Capitals.

  • Is the Market for Flames Defenseman Rasmus Andersson Heating Up?
    Dec 18 2025

Welcome to Daily Faceoff Live with Tyler Yaremchuk and Carter Hutton!

We start the show in Florida where things are purring along as the Panthers are the cats’ meow right now on a three-game win streak and moving up into a playoff spot. Are the Cats back in the hunt and do they possess the same bite as last year’s Cup winners?

On the West Coast it’s a fall from grace in Los Angeles as the Kings are losing their hold of the throne in the playoff race as they’ve lost four straight and have tumbled to a wild card spot. With Kuemper out can the Kings finally find their offence?

Next, it’s The Rating Game, where Tyler and Carter discuss on a 1-10 scale how much they agree of disagree with the following statements. The LA Kings have a sub 50% chance of making the playoffs and the Carolina Hurricanes are the best team in the East.

David Pagnotta from The Fourth Period joins the show for The Insider Notebook where he’ll talk Rasmus Andersson trade market, next steps in Buffalo, what New Jersey might do after losing out on Hughes, and if it’s time for the Rangers to make a splash at the deadline?

  • Danke Schön: Draisaitl Reaches 1,000 Point Milestone
    Dec 17 2025

We start the show with Leon Draisaitl collecting his 1,000th point in a 6–4 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins. He becomes the 103rd player in NHL history to reach the milestone and the fifth-fastest non-North American player to do so. How many points will the German forward finish his career with?

The Toronto Maple Leafs came out flat against the Chicago Blackhawks, but a late third-period rally saw them pull out a 3–2 win at home. Craig Berube was not pleased with the team’s effort level and made that clear in his post-game presser. How thin is the ice under Berube in Toronto?

Next, it’s another edition of Fill in the Blank. With a new GM in place, what are the chances the Buffalo Sabres make the playoffs this season? Macklin Celebrini has 11 points in his last five games—what is his percentage chance of making the Olympic team?

Steve Peters from Inside the Coaches’ Room joins us for The Film Room, where he’ll dive into the Jarry/Skinner deal, how Jarry has looked so far in Edmonton, last night’s faceoff, and Quinn Hughes bolstering an already stacked Minnesota blue line.
