  • #141 Miért nehéz nyelveket tanulni magyarként?
    May 7 2025

B2 - UPPER-INTERMEDIATE - We all know Hungarian can feel like a shock at first for learners who are used to studying languages from the same family, like the Romance or Germanic languages. It doesn’t really compare to anything else.

But what about the other side of the story? How does this affect Hungarians when they try to learn foreign languages?

I actually used to teach English one-on-one, so I’ll share some of the most common things my Hungarian students struggled with back then. I’ll also talk about what gave me a hard time when I started learning Polish and Spanish myself.

Please, don't forget to give me five stars on Spotify if you like my podcast ❤️

  • #140 Miért nem tudok anyanyelvi magyarokkal beszélgetni?
    Apr 30 2025

B1 - INTERMEDIATE - Don't feel discouraged if talking to native speakers feels exhausting or frustrating. It's completely normal. You’re not supposed to hold full conversations or understand everything yet.

Instead, focus on finding ways to feel more and more successful at your current level. It's absolutely possible to feel successful when talking to Hungarians, even at a lower level. In this episode, I'll share some ideas to help you build that sense of achievement and I'll also talk about how to see your progress more realistically.

  • #139 Introvertált vagy extrovertált?
    Apr 23 2025

A2 - PRE-INTERMEDIATE - Are you an introvert or an extrovert? Answer the same five questions I did, and learn some new words in Hungarian along the way 🥰

You don't need a short video where they teach you "how to say prefer in Hungarian?" You need a context, a story, and a lot of repetition. In this video I say "what do you prefer?" five times, you have a context, you have a story so I'm sure you will remember by the end of the video.

Random videos with phrases won't take you anywhere. Analyzing full sentences, transcriptions, real conversations in Hungarian will! It's time to learn Hungarian with a new approach ✨
