  • Keep Doing What You WANT to Do - Danielle Metcalfe-Chenail
    May 30 2024

Danielle Metcalfe-Chenail talks about using the Try Jar (genius!) and the lily pad method to keep doing what you really WANT to be doing in your writing.

She's a multi-genre and multi-passionate author, writing coach, editor and storyteller. She's probably best known for her inclusive aviation histories and picture books - but she's also working on memoir and book club fiction. She loves getting lost in research, travelling, and going on adventures with her little family. It makes it all the sweeter when she's reading fireside (or seaside) in her Nova Scotia, Canada home. This lovely conversation had me buzzing (yes, a bee pun!). 🐝

  • 443 | Using a Page Turn as Cliffhanger with Airlie Anderson
    May 16 2024

How to use the turn of a page as a cliffhanger, and hey, would you still write if you knew you weren't going to be published? Don't miss this awesome conversation today!

Airlie Anderson is the author and illustrator of children’s picture books Only: The Bird Who Liked Being Alone, Neither, Cat’s Colors, Cat’s Seasons, and more. She grew up in California and spent a lot of time reading and drawing, as well as swimming and pretending to ride a horse. Her early influences were animation art, pop art, and comics. Airlie attended the Rhode Island School of Design, where she majored in illustration and focused on children’s books, a natural choice given her love for saturated color and expressive characters. She now lives in beautiful, underrated New Jersey with her family, and enjoys the close proximity to New York City (book country)! She is the recipient of the Moonbeam Children’s Book Award, the Independent Publisher Book Award, and the Practical Preschool award.
