Just talking music, radio for African American History

  • Summary

  • February is African American History Month!    In This episode, Steve and I have a visit from Gachele Coffey, a longtime Chicago radio personality that worked with Steve in the 1990s.  They worked form the legendary John H. Johnson, the media mogul that created and owned Ebony and Jet magazines -- the first national magazines featuring African Americans.  He later spread out into radio and television production creating Johnson media.

Their discussions of African American radio, what it was like to work with Johnson, and their experiences producing radio shows are so appropriate for February, which is African American History month.
