  • Leviticus 23:23-25…The Lord said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites: ‘On the first day of the seventh month you are to have a day of sabbath rest, a sacred assembly commemorated with trumpet blasts. Do no regular work, but present a food offering to the Lord.’” The book of numbers and Nehemiah refer to it in a similar way. They are told to celebrate this sabbath day with the sounding of the trumpets…but it is a day of rest in which they are to do no regular work and present a food offering to the Lord.
