  • Episode-47 Soccer galore!
    Jul 25 2023

In this episode, Ken and I look back on Lionel Messi's incredible debut with Inter Miami, where he score a magnificent free kick in the final seconds to help them win against Cruz Azul of LigaMX.

The game was overshadowed by DC United firing their head trainer being fired for displaying white supremacy sign, and two players getting suspended all within the 48 hours, and also USMNT getting ousted by Panama in the Gold Cup semifinal with mostly MLS players, who are well below against European based players.

We also touched on USWNT beating Vietnam 3-0 in their opener in Women's World Cup in Australia, well below their standards, and FOX Sports' coverage compared that to their Qatar World Cup coverage last November.

We closed out the show by discussing the trade rumor surrounding Angels' Shohei Ohtani and debated whether he will be traded and if so, which team will get him for short term. Also, we touched on the his next contract, which could reach $600 million, and the reaction it will likely receive from the fans and media.

  • Episode 46-The week before the start of training camp
    Jul 20 2023

In this episode, Bears YouTuber Rishab Skiri from YouTube's DaWindy Productions joined me to discuss the current Bears roster and discussed the strength and weakness of each positions and storylines heading into training camp.

We also reacted to DeAndre Hopkins signing with Tennessee Titans, which came as a surprise, and the devaluation of running backs as none of the franchised running backs(Saquon Barkley, Josh Jacobs, and Troy Pollard) did not come to terms on a long term deals.

  • Episode 45-Ken Fang from ”Awful Announcing”-MLB All-Star Game and Northwestern hazing scandal etc.
    Jul 13 2023

In this episode, my cohost Ken Fang from "Awful Announcing" joined me to discuss the following topics:

    1. The value of MLB All-Star Game-While we both agree that it is still the best out of the four professional sports in the US, we discuss the diminishing viewership and the interest, and ideas to drum up interests being thrown out.

Speaking of an All Star, we both discussed the possibility of Shohei Ohtani being traded before the trade deadline.

    2. Northwestern Football Hazing Scandal-News broke out while we were recording that long time Northwestern football coach Pat Fitzgerald was fired due to hazing scandal that was reported last week, which he got only two weeks suspension. Ken and I discussed it from both football and media perspective on this incident.

    3. USMNT and USWNT both in action-Both US Men's and Woman's National Team were in action over the weekend with less than impressive results. The Men's Team beat Canada on a penalty kick, while Woman's Team defeat Wales 2-0 in their final tune up game before the World Cup. We also touched on less than ideal media coverage of both teams by Fox Sports, particularly Landon Donovan, and Alexi Lalas.

    4. History made in the MLB Draft-We ended the show by discussing the MLB Draft that took place last Sunday, and the impact of Arjun Nimmala, the first Indian American player ever selected in the first round by the Toronto Blue Jays, and his Indian roots.

  • Episode 44: Post NFL Draft thoughts and other sports news with Ken Fang
    Jun 3 2023

    Recorded on 5/2/2023

In this episode, Ken Fang from"Awful Announcing" joined me for our usual podcast, recapping the NFL Draft weekend in Kansas City. I went to Saturday's Day 3 event as I am currently in working out of Kansas City area, and recapped my experience attending the event, which have turned into another money making event for the NFL. We also discussed the upcoming NFL Schedule release, which is another big event for the NFL to keep fans' interest after the draft.

Ken spoke on the news of the Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury deciding to ditch Bally Sports Arizona and air their games on local broadcast television next season. The Diamond Sports Group which owns the 19 Bally RSNs, filed for bankruptcy protection in March, and have missed multiple payments to many teams, who air their games on Bally RSNs. Ken says it could spark the return of broadcast televisions owned by Gray or Scripps and signal the end of RSNs.

We discussed the top seed Milwaukee Bucks getting upset by the Miami Heat and comments made by Giannis Antetokounmpo's comment about this season being a failuure for not winning a championship, which had sports world buzzing with both accolades and rebukes.

We ended the podcast talking about ex-major leaguer Trevor Bauer's latest  controversy, where his samurai sword celebration for striking out batters was misinterpreted by his own teammates and had to be clearified.

  • Episode 43: Post NFL Draft podcast with DaWindyCity Productions
    Jun 3 2023

    Recorded on 5/8/2003

In this episode, Rishab Skiri from YouTube's DaWindyCity Productions joined me to recap the 2023 NFL Draft this past weekend in Kansas City, where I am currently staying and working. We focused only on the Bears draft!

We discussed the Bears drafting Tennessee RT Darnell Wright with 10th pick

after trading down one spot with the Philadelphia Eagles, who took Georgia DT Jalen Carter, the player who had been linked to the Bears pretty much the entire off-season. We both agree that it was the right pick in order to solidify the pass protection in addition to signing guard Nate Davis, that gave up 58 sacks in 2022.

We also discussed on the rest of the players drafted by the Bears, and what is the realistic expectations for each of them in the upcoming 2023 season, and which veteran edge rushers the Bears will likely target now as they drafted no one in the draft.

  • Episode 42: Aaron Rodgers is finally traded!! And the preview of the NFL Draft in Kansas City etc.
    Jun 3 2023

    Recorded on 4/24/2023

In this episode, Ken and I talk about the NFL Draft being held in Kansas City this week, as I am currently working in the Metropolitan KC area. The city is coming off a high winning Super Bowl 57 against the Philadelphia Eagles and now hosts the NFL Draft, along with the World Cup soccer in 2026.

But before that, we discussed in length about Aaron Rodgers finally getting traded to the New York Jets, a trade that had been rumored the entire off-season, but was not made official until now.

We discussed if he can change the Jets into a contender despite playing in a loaded AFC East, or will the history repeats again when the Packers traded Brett Favre to the Jets in 2008, which lasted only one season.

We also discussed in length about the US Soccer Federation finally hiring Matt Crocker, a Brit, as their new sporting/technical director, replacing ex-US Soccer star Earnie Stewart. While both Ken and I do not know anything about Crocker, we both praised his hiring rather than hiring a former US Soccer star to maintain good old boys network that has led to multiple lawsuits and dysfunction that has plagued the US Soccer, and the impact of who they will hire as the national team manager for the important World Cup 2026 campaign.

We ended our show with Wrexham FC, who won the promotion to EFL Two League this past season, and it's popularity in the US, thanks to its reality show shown on FX and Hulu in the US after actor Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney purchased the club, and touched on the need for promotion/relegation in MLS, which is still lagging in terms of popularity.

In this episode, Rishab Skiri, AKA DaWindyCity Production on YouTube joined me to talk about the latest NFL Draft rumors involving the Chicago Bears.

The Bears are rumored to be discussing trading down with the Pittsburgh Steelers, who have the 17th pick. We discussed the possibilities of that happening, if getting more draft capital means the Bears are still not ready to compete for the NFC North due to talent gap, and what players could be available if the trade did happen.

We also caught up on the latest news around the league, including the Washington Commanders finally being sold and the end of Dan Snyder's terrible ownership, and how QB CJ Stroud not considered highly in the NFL circle, and how Ryan Poles lucked out in getting a huge haul from desperate Carolina Panthers rather than waiting out.
