The Lord Is My Shepherd

  • Summary

  • Psalms 23 is a very familiar chapter of the Bible. This Psalms is written by David who himself was a shepherd in his early life for his father Jessie. David understands the job of a shepherd and the responsibility of taking good care of the sheep carefully to prevent casualties. It was not easy all the time, sometimes it was very challenging to say the least. A good shepherd was willing to lay down his life for the sheep. He would defend them against the enemy at all cost. Fight off any enemy to protect them, knowing how helpless the sheep were. He protected, provided for them and helped the weak and sick. He would carry them on his shoulders to protect them and be sure they received the best possible care for their healing. The Lord is my Shepherd, my provider, my source, my substance, my life…. He’s my everything! Keep your eyes on your God and keep your ears tuned to his voice and follow it. When I can’t see him I must be intentional, on hearing from God. Keep praying, keep reading God’s word, make the right confessions from your mouth, don’t curse but bless the state of your being, be thankful, no matter what state you are in, knowing the the Lord is with you. In these trying times be sure to make God your shepherd and source for life. Follow Christ and surely goodness and mercy will follow you. Be careful who you FOLLOW!
