  • The PUSH Project Podcast EP. 006 || BIG BILLY CLARK
    Jun 9 2021

"THAT HITS YOU RIGHT IN THE GUT!!"

Big Billy Clark is the Executive Vice President at Hitmakers
Entertainment, a record label based in Los Angeles, founded by mega
producer Mark Feist (Beyonce, Celine Dion, Mary J. Blige, John Legend,
    Drake).

Clark is also the owner of the longest running artist development music
program in Los Angeles called VocalizeU. VocalizeU is a 10-Day Artist
Intensive program that brings hundreds of singers, artists, songwriters and
producers every year from all over the world to learn from the industries elite.
In addition to running Hitmakers and VocalizeU, Clark also manages
    Keke Palmer and Melody Thornton.

Big Billy Clark started out his career at Def Jam Recordings in 1994
when then CEO Russell Simmons recruited him into the west coast office of the
NY based company. Clark hustled his way from an intern to Senior Director of
A&R / West Coast Office Manager. After 9 years at his post at Island Def Jam,
Clark ventured out and decided to learn a new facet of what his artists do…
Touring. He started Tour Managing and traveled around the world for almost 3
years before he was brought into Atlantic Records as an A&R by the labels
    President Craig Kallman.

In 2006 Clark was then offered an executive A&R position at Sony Music
where he developed and signed new artists, as well as worked with the other
A&R team on the labels roster. After a couple of years at Sony, Clark felt there
was a void in artist development. 2010, He was brought onboard to run a
production company for The Black Eyed Peas' Printz Board called Beets & Produce, and eventually became the GM at The Writing Camp, which housed
songwriters and producers responsible for hit songs such as Beyonce's "Halo", Rihanna "SOS", Hot Chelle Rae's "Tonight Tonight", and Jennifer Hudson’s
“Think Like A Man”. Clark also was a talent producer on The Hub's hit TV show
Majors & Minors, in addition to handling music supervision and clearance for all
music in the show. All of this lead up Clark joining Hitmakers as Exec. VP in
2015 as well and managing artists such as Christina Milian, Keke Palmer,
    Melody Thornton and numerous others.

Samson Shulman is a Serial Survivor!
By age 23, Samson Shulman survived the death of his father, an emotionally abusive mother, being repeatedly bullied, switching schools 15 times, chronic illness and a debilitating addiction.

But surviving doesn’t mean escaping unscathed.

    Somehow, he kept bouncing back.

At 24 Samson found the faith to follow his heart to L.A. to create a dream career in music, with nothing in place, and turning down an acceptance to law school in the process. Newly in L.A., he hustled hard and began to see his dreams turning into reality, against the odds. Samson landed an internship with Interscope Records (Lady Gaga, Eminem, U2) and worked his way up, before becoming a music coordinator at The Tonight Show, then launching an artist development / talent management company called 5AM Collective, where he helped advance the careers of emerging artists.

After an 11-year run of non-stop grinding in the music business, Samson found himself sinking, spinning into a complete breakdown. He was physically, emotionally, spiritually and financially devasted.

Every department of his life was in ashes.

To coincide with all of this, at his lowest point in this process, Samson had a near death experience that left him in the hospital clinging to life from a tumor in his head that had hemorrhaged didn’t even know was there.

Shortly after stabilizing physically, Samson left L.A. to regroup and when all of the dust started settling, he looked to place blame on a tough industry and former partners who he felt wronged me, for his demise.

But gradually Samson started to realize … "it was me who had betrayed myself."

Now, Samson is driven by a new dream: to TRANSFORM his pain and struggle into gratitude and wisdom – and to develop a deeper, authentic CONNECTION with himself and others.

  • The PUSH Project Podcast EP. 003 || KENYON DIXON
    Apr 21 2021

    "R&B IS NOT DEAD!!"

Kenyon Dixon (R&B Kenny) is a 2x Grammy-nominated songwriter, globally recognized singer and producer.

As one of this generation's emerging songwriters, the Los Angeles (Watts) native has composed and written on albums that have peaked at #1 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip Hop Chart. Kenyon has written for R&B legends (Mary J. Blige, Faith Evans, Tyrese, TGT and more) and has been a backing vocalist for artists such as Usher, John Legend, Nick Jonas, Kelly Rowland, Jill Scott, 2 Chainz and more. Most recently, Kenyon was one of the featured backing vocalists (The Tennessee Kids) on Justin Timberlake’s Man of The Woods Tour, which grossed over $230 Million worldwide. In preparation for their Super Bowl LIII halftime performance, they landed a nationally televised commercial with The Tennessee Kids and Dodge that has amassed over 4M+ views.

Not to be outdone by his previous accomplishments, Kenyon Dixon’s solo career is rapidly on the rise. Deemed Joe Budden’s “Sleeper Pick” on two different occasions, R&B Kenny is definitely an artist to watch for. His latest project, Expectations was quickly deemed a fan favorite for it’s vulnerability via the male perspective and led him to become an opener for Marsha Ambrosius on her NYLA Tour. With TV placements (OWN Networks Greenleaf & BET's The Game), the voice of an international digital campaign (Uniqlo - Japan) as well as receiving background vocalist credit on Kanye West’s Ultra Light Beam, Dixon is well on his way to becoming a staple within the industry.
