  • What Verstappen's amazing Nurburgring GT victory says about him - and his future
    Sep 29 2025

On this episode, we discuss how Max Verstappen has spent the gap between F1 races, and in particular the significance of his first GT3 race victory on the daunting Nurburgring Nordschleife (of all places).

Edd Straw is joined by Scott Mitchell-Malm and Matt Beer to explain why Max did it and the lengths he went to in order to compete, and what it means for his racing future in F1 and beyond.

That includes the likelihood of him contesting the Nurburgring 24 Hours next year, and his long-term aspiration to race at - and win - the Le Mans 24 hours.

There’s also a look a why he’s in a unique position to do this, and if some of his rivals could be inspired to do the same.

  • Tech Show: Why wind plays havoc with F1 cars + Explaining Red Bull’s recent renaissance
    Sep 25 2025

Why was the gusty wind that hit Baku such a challenge for the drivers? And why are some cars more sensitive to wind than others?

Gary Anderson joins Edd Straw to explain all on this week's edition of The Race F1 Tech Show, and also to shed light on where Red Bull's recent gains have come from, and whether they could also be evident at upcoming tracks - in particular Singapore.

Gary also tackles listener questions on zero sidepods, 'cake tins', and mechanical grip.

  • Is Verstappen really a title threat?
    Sep 24 2025

McLaren team principal Andrea Stella has warned that Max Verstappen is a threat for the drivers' championship, a possibility we evaluate in the latest edition of The Race F1 Podcast.

Samarth Kanal and Ben Anderson join Edd Straw to discuss Red Bull's recent progress and ask if the Monza and Baku form can translate to other tracks, starting with the upcoming Singapore Grand Prix.

We also look at the Piastri v Norris battle and how it might be impacted by Verstappen, and ask if the Red Bull driver could force McLaren to back one driver over the other.

And finally, we tackle listener questions on a variety of topics from the idea of bringing back refuelling to Alpine's struggles.
