La historia comienza cuando Gregorio Samsa despierta de un sueño intranquilo y se da cuenta de que se convirtió en un monstruoso insecto con innumerables patas, un abdomen abombado, un caparazón y nuevas y fuertes mandíbulas. La transformación de Gregorio, un viajante de comercio de telas, desencadena una serie de problemas para él y su familia, compuesta por sus padres y su hermana, debido a que es el único sostén de los Samsa. Desde entonces, en la casa se vive una mezcla de emociones y determinadas situaciones que llegan al límite por la presencia de más personajes.

An odd but well-loved short story following steps into madness. A country doctor has had more work than he can handle, and the stress seems to have taken him to a place that seems as at home in nightmares as in the madness of an overworked mind. Kafka's work often lends itself to the turmoil of the human mind. In this respect the story does not fail to impress.

Franz Kafka's Metamorphosis tells the story of Gregor, the only son of the Samsa family. One morning upon waking up, Gregor, a traveling salesman, discovers that his body has somehow transformed into an insect-like creature; but his mind is somehow still intact. Although not surprised by the change, Gregor's family is disgusted, and his father ends up injuring Gregor while trying to keep him in his bedroom.

Franz Kafka connut d'abord Milena comme traductrice : elle établissait la version tchèque de quelques-unes de ses proses courtes. The Odradek is an imaginary creature that appears in the short story "The Concerns of a Family Man" by Franz Kafka . The physical description of the Odradek shows it as a flat, star-shaped spool of thread, with the addition of a few other appendages. Later in the story, Kafka gives the Odradek more human characteristics, being able to stand on two legs and speak. The narrator even gets to have a few conversations with the Odradek, during which the creature's nomadic and possibly immortal nature is emphasized.

The Metamorphosis is one of the most commonly referenced books when you talk about absurd literature. It is heralded as a masterpiece of the existential literature genre because of how it demands the reader to accept the absurdity of the world just as it is. Although some of the events of the story are fantastical in nature, the ideas it conveys about existence, the meaning of life, and humanity are relatable to us in the real world, too.

Il Processo è uno dei più celebri romanzi di Franz Kafka. Lasciato incompiuto dallo scrittore e pubblicato postumo nel 1925, racconta la vicenda, surreale e angosciante, del procuratore di banca Josef K., che una mattina, senza conoscerne le ragioni, viene arrestato. Certo che si tratti di un errore, il giovane procuratore tenta di scoprire quale sia il capo d'imputazione sul quale si basa il processo che gli è intentato.

"La Métamorphose" révèle une vérité méconnue, les conventions disparaissent, les masques tombent. Ce récit est un des plus pathétiques et des plus violents que Kafka ait écrits ; les effets en sont soulignés à l'encre rouge, les péripéties ébranlent les nerfs du lecteur. C'est l'histoire, "excessivement répugnante", dit l'auteur, d'un homme qui se réveille changé en cancrelat. Cette transformation est un châtiment imaginaire que Kafka s'inflige. Zunächst ist das Publikum von den Künsten des Hungernden sehr angetan, doch bald wendet sich das Blatt. Der Impresario legt dem Künstler nahe, zu essen - doch dieser ist entrüstet, weiß er doch, dass er noch viel länger hungern kann.
