It was Halloween, and Jan and her friends, Misty and Michelle, decided to dig up a legend that should have been just that. But we all know teenagers feel that they are invincible, and nothing bad will happen to them. Bad things only happen to other people - or do they?

We've all been to haunted house attractions on Halloween that have people made up to be scary-looking to scare us even though it is all fake, and we know it, but we don't care; we just want to be scared. Samantha needed the most help with her homework because she liked to party, while Meg always had her head in the textbooks. Midterms were just around the corner, but a big party was being held at a good friend of Samantha's house and - of course - Samantha wasn't going to miss the party over a midterm exam.

It was their love for sailing that brought Jack and Karen Billings together. Anytime they had free time, they could be found aboard their most prized possession, the Marlow Explorer. During the late 1800's Tom Sanderson's farm was a great place for fishing. Tom was a very friendly man that liked to give tours in his cave to anyone that fished or hunted on his farm. But Tom's kindness would eventually do him in. One day, like any other day, Tom approached two men that were drinking and fishing in his pond. Tom asked the men, "Would you like to take a tour in my cave just over the hill?" The two men knew Tom was loaded and heard that he kept his money in his overalls.

It was Kathy's parent's anniversary and they planned a weekend getaway leaving Kathy all alone with her dog. Kathy didn't like being left alone, but she knew her parents had been planning this trip for a long time and didn't want to spoil it for them. Kathy was unaware that an inmate escaped from the local jail for attempted murder. She hugged her parents and they drove off to their destination. Kathy closed the front door and picked up her dog and sat down on the couch to watch a movie.

Jack Stephenson lived alone, and was very shy around woman until a good friend of his introduced him to Penny that also lived alone down the street from Jack. When their eyes met Jack felt he found his angel and Penny thought she found the man of her dreams. After months of dating Jack and Penny they got married. That's when things started going downhill. Jack didn't let his new bride out of his sight.

Bill and Karen Stevens were so excited to get to spend a weekend away from their children. Bill was the top salesman of his company that year and was awarded a weekend trip to any four-star hotel of his choice, compliments of the company he works for. Bill and Karen packed their belongings and said goodbye to their children and headed to the airport, to their destination. The plane finally landed and they were ready for a fun-filled weekend without their kids. Bill and Karen held hands as they approached the front desk of the beautiful four-star hotel....

One day when Susie was out walking the dog, she ran it off a cliff. Susie thought this was really cool, but Susie didn't realize killing things isn't such a cool thing to do. Susie was ready to test the waters of death on her friends. Susie invited three of her closest friends over for a sleepover.

Billy and Susan loved to hear their father read stories to them every night at bedtime. Susan told her brother, Billy, that the stories were for little kids. Susan said, "Billy I love dad, but I wish he would read scary stories to us instead of stories like Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland. They were okay when we were younger, but we are so much older now." "I feel the same way. I like it when mother and father go out to dinner at night so we can watch scary movies together," replied Billy.

Summer finally arrived and Ben, Susan and Mike were excited to close their textbooks and spend the summer at the lake. Their parents were glad their kids loved spending the summer at the lake because it gave them some time to themselves to not worry about what their kids were up to. Their parents dropped off their kids, waved goodbye for the last time. The camp had been closed for a couple of years because of a secret governmental experiment that went horribly wrong.

What was once in every child's dream is now just an echo in the wind of a past gone by.
