The object of these lectures is to place before you an idea of the Christ-Event in so far as it is connected with the historical appearance of the Christ in the person of Jesus of Nazareth. So many questions of the spiritual life are bound up with this subject that the choice of it will enable us to make a wide survey of the realm of Spiritual Science and its mission, and to discuss the significance of the Anthroposophical Movement for the spiritual life of the present time.

What has to be imparted has been given in the form of eight meditations, which can be actually practiced. If this is done, they can be adapted for imparting to the soul, through its own inner-deepening, that about which they speak.

Als Rudolf Steiner im Jahre 1904 die Erstausgabe seines Werkes Theosophie präsentierte, war ihm wohl noch nicht klar, dass er ab 1913 diesen Begriff durch den noch heute gültigen Terminus der "Anthroposophie" ersetzen würde. In der Schrift Theosophie, die eine äußerst erfolgreiche Publikation wurde, präsentierte er zum ersten Mal seinen Ansatz, dass die Theosophie eine wissenschaftliche Erforschung der geistigen Welt darstelle, die tatsächlich aus drei Welten bestehe: Seelenwelt, Geisterland und physische Welt.

Im Jahre 1920 hielt Rudolf Steiner Vorträge über die Idee und Unterrichtsgestaltung der zu gründenden Waldorfschulen. Diese Vorträge sind faszinierende Zeitdokumente und werfen ein direktes Licht auf die Waldorf-Pädagogik.

Afferma Rudolf Steiner: "Tutto ciò che si trova in merito al sangue nelle saghe e nelle antiche concezioni del mondo è di grande importanza, perché in quegli antichissimi tempi si aveva una saggezza che ben sapeva in merito al sangue, quel succo peculiare che è la stessa vita umana che scorre, e alla sua importanza per il mondo. Si deve indicare che l'uomo consiste di corpo fisico, corpo eterico, corpo astrale ed Io, ossia della vera e propria vita interiore; che in tale vita interiore vi sono i germi dei tre ulteriori gradini dell'evoluzione che nasceranno dal sangue."

"Una comunità fra i vivi e i morti (che diversamente non potrebbe essere creata in modo altrettanto intenso nel nostro attuale ciclo epocale) viene realizzata per il fatto che noi ci riempiamo di pensieri tratti dalla scienza dello spirito e che, tenendo in considerazione il morto, in un certo senso li offriamo a lui". Rudolf Steiner è senza dubbio uno degli esoterismi ottocenteschi più celebri. Vissuto a cavallo tra Ottocento e Novecento, ha fondato l'antroposofia, dottrina di derivazione teosofica .

In questo audiolibro si vuol dare una descrizione di alcune parti del mondo soprasensibile. Chi voglia ammettere soltanto quello sensibile, riterrà tale descrizione un vacuo prodotto della fantasia. Ma chi voglia cercar le vie che conducono fuori del mondo dei sensi, arriverà presto a comprendere che la vita umana acquista valore e significato soltanto se si penetri con lo sguardo in un altro mondo. Questa penetrazione non distoglie l'uomo, come molti temono, dalla vita "reale". Poiché solo per tale via egli impara a star saldo e sicuro nella vita.

La via della conoscenza superiore è stata seguita nell'iniziazione fino all'incontro con due "Guardiani della Soglia". Ora vogliamo descrivere anche i rapporti nei quali l'anima sta rispetto ai diversi mondi, mentre percorre i gradi successivi della conoscenza. Così si avrà ciò che si può chiamare "la teoria della conoscenza della scienza occulta".

Le cosiddette leggi sull'alimentazione presenti nelle diverse civiltà, ad un primo sguardo sembrano essere molto arbitrarie. In realtà non lo sono, esse sorgono dalla conoscenza e dalla saggezza.

Il sottotitolo dell'audiolibro è "Verità ed errore nell'indagine spirituale": si tratta di 11 conferenze tenute a Torquay dall'11 al 22 agosto 1924. E' l'ultimo ciclo di conferenze tenuto da Stenier, che sarebbe morto un anno dopo. Come per tutte le conferenze pubblicate, i testi non sono stati rivisti dall'autore.
