Battleforged

Eric was as shocked as everyone else when the apocalypse struck, but unlike his mother's movie, there were no chosen heroes destined to fight the beast hordes now overrunning the planet. Just people trying desperately to survive. Yet there was a glimmer of hope that humanity could hold on to. A chosen few really could level up in this brave new world, and embrace magic, adventure, and the potential for limitless power!

Continued to do list for the post apocalypse: 4. Fall in love with the girl ordered to kill you. 5. Cash out the absolute FORTUNE you're holding so tightly that even the wrong thought could cause you to explode. 6. Keep a VERY low profile and do NOT piss off the cutthroat goblin bankers who secretly rule Freetown. 7. Especially don't piss off all your enemies with a COMPETING BANK! 8. Ignore your own advice and see what happens before unlocking perilous secrets that could reshape an entire world!

It's a good thing that Eric finally managed to evolve his class. If he's going to have any hope of rescuing his sister, he'll need every advantage he can get! The Sylvan Alliance's territories have been seized. Her champions slaughtered. A once thriving faction has been reduced to a single battered fortress. If Eric can’t pull off a miracle and succeed where an entire regiment of skilled archers have fallen, then both his sister and all those who march under her banner will be obliterated by the muskets and cannons of their enemies.

Eric has a little problem. Someone he cares about has been kidnapped by sadistic goblins working with corrupt bureaucrats who are eager to make him pay for interfering with their plans of military conquest and economic dominion. Good thing Eric has a BIG ARMY! An army that's absolutely PERFECT for crushing ANNOYING little problems that threaten any girl silly enough to fall for a guy like him.

Power that could turn him to ash, or let him ascend upon the ashes of all his foes. Eric had to admit that negotiating on his family’s behalf had taken a rather unexpected turn. One that had left him bereft of his armies, his gear, and with an unbreakable pain-collar strapped to his neck.
