If you’ve read the Cat and Mouse duet, then you know that Gigi is Addie’s grandmother. You get small snippets of her story in that duet, and now this is the full story. This takes place in 1944, and it’s very old school mafia-esque. This does have cheating (not between our love interests), so keep that in mind if you are planning to pick this up. This just makes me want to reread Addie and Zade’s story.

I loved the book but didn’t like the voices. I had to stop listening and just read. When I read it I enjoyed it much more then listening

Good story, great narration. Wish we could’ve heard the true ending. But I guess we know from reading the other series.

If you’re looking for something smutty/spicy with very little plot then this book is for you. It is what it was intended to be, in my opinion. The writing was good, I liked following along as Genevieve wrote in her journal but it’s a novella, just a glimpse back in to the world of the cat and mouse duet (fabulous btw.) I am not generally a person who enjoys a lot of smut, I prefer tasteful spice and there is definitely some filthy explicit scenes with degradation. Overall because the writing style was great (as is most of HDs work) I rated this 5 stars and 3.5 on spice scale.
