Brian Allen currently serves as Senior Vice President, Emerging Technology Risk Management for BITS at the Bank Policy Institute. In this role he collaborates across industry to advance industry insights and coordinates initiatives on cybersecurity and emerging technology issues such as governance, board cyber risk oversight, operational resilience, AI, fraud, and future industry technology driven risk issues. Prior to joining BITS, Mr. Allen was the Chief Security Officer at Time Warner Cable, a Fortune, 130 critical infrastructure Provider. He worked at EY as the sub-competency lead on their Cyber Risk Management Program efforts, working with boards and the c-suite on their cyber risk management oversight obligations and helping to shape security programs across industries. Mr. Allen worked on several industry and government coordinated critical infrastructure groups including the executive committees of the Comm-ISAC and Comm-Sector Coordinating Council. He was appointed by the FCC Chairman to represent the communication industry in working with NIST on the development of the Cybersecurity Framework. Mr. Allen is an author of two security risk management books and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Connecticut’s MBA Financial Risk Management program, teaching cybersecurity risk and enterprise risk management concepts.
