James Queally is a journalist and crime fiction author, but he tends to prefer the second job description, because sometimes facts and attribution aren't any damn fun. His short fiction is a safety valve that lets lunatic images of organ-stealing bondage queens, hard-luck pro wrestlers and end-of-their rope Yakuza parade safely out of his mind. His work has appeared in Thuglit, All Due Respect, Crime Syndicate Magazine, Literary Orphans, Dark Corners, Shotgun Honey and Out Of The Gutter. As a reporter, Queally has spent time swallowing tear gas in Ferguson, Mo. and arguing with luchadores in an East L.A. warehouse as a reporter for the Los Angeles Times. Before that, he spent five years covering cops and crime for The Star-Ledger in New Jersey, a place where crime is more about rolling drug wars than it ever was about the Sopranos. All his work, real and imagined, can be found 140 characters at a time @JamesQueallyLAT
