I can't say enough about the path of discovery that I have traversed. In my first book The Teacher Within, I briefly touch upon my own journey at the end of the book. I prefer driving over blowing my own horn but in brief, if a creative is basically born to lesser means, they begin to have yearnings that cannot be fulfilled by say a parent whom is able to buy this and that book or send their child to a prominent teacher for instance. They of necessity, their own necessity, begin to travel this self-taught path. That is me in a nutshell. Among my bag of learned and mastered skills: Journeyman sign-painter/ illustrator, fine artist, professional drummer, bassist, guitarist, vocalist and producer/narrator. I operate a sign and graphics shop in Fremont, California known as Tone-Mark Creative. This company is the culmination of many of my varied skills under one creative roof. The main reason for this is that so many creatives pursue one craft to finance another, having decided they prefer one over the other. I am fortunate in that I like all my creative pursuits. But even I have aesthetic preferences. I for instance before the pandemic was a working musician with gigs well into 2021. Along the way songwriting became a means of self expression and to date I have produced and copy-written 20+ songs, (which may be auditioned at reverb.com) performing all instrumental parts and producing the final tracks as well wearing the engineering cap. The point being that performing cover music financed songwriting, etc. Now that all is under one roof, I am no longer conflicted, and use my own self-penned book as a blueprint for fitting in my favorite activities daily. I am what I do; the long and the short of it and show no signs of slowing down!.
