As a kid, I was always a voracious reader. I knew I wanted to be a writer when I grew up, but life took me on an awful lot of detours on the way there.
I write romance novels because I want to believe there is a Happily Ever After for everyone. I set my books in small-town Michigan because that is what I know, and because I love the beauty of my home state. To me, there is no more perfect place in the world than on a sandy beach with my toes in the cool waters of Lake Michigan.
I am a single mother, a high school lunchlady, and a blogger with a knack for seeking out the humorous side of every situation. My collections of funny essays are my way of dealing with life's slings and arrows and maple trees while trying to find reasons to smile even in rough times.
