I think this was a really great story and was narrated really well. I was sad when it ended. It would be cool to hear the story from Francis’ side I think too.

I loved this book. Wonderful story and fully realized characters with great narration. I felt at times that this was very like a John Irving novel with its characteristic family politics and eccentric members and dialogue. I also enjoyed the feel of early 20th century time and place, with all of its beauty and baggage, people and customs of the era as we followed this family through the decades. I highly recommend this book.

I love horror but I love characters more and this story goes for generations with its characters. I am sooo sad that this is over. It’s very well done and very easy to follow but at the same time keeps you guessing as to what will happen next. So very well executed. Love this book. The horror aspect is also very good. Not forced. Seamless. Chef’s kiss!
