À propos de cet audio

From New York Times bestselling author Craig Alanson comes a thrilling new series that melds action-packed urban fantasy with his signature humor, read by none other than award-winning narrator R.C. Bray.

My name is Kazimir Wolfe. People call me "Kaz", except they don’t. I never use my real name; it’s too dangerous, for me and for anyone I meet.

I’m on the run from the law, who think I killed my aunt, and from whoever did kill her, because they want to finish the job. So, I move around a lot, working construction or whatever job I can find. It’s a lonely life. I don’t let anyone get close...people who get close to me end up dead. Why?

I’m a wizard. The world’s only wizard, as far as I know. I don’t have a wand or a sword, and I don’t ride a dragon. I carry a Glock, and drive around in a beat-up RV with a talking dog.

Yeah. The talking dog was a surprise to me, too. Duke is inhabited by the spirit of a 3,000-year-old wizard from Babylon, and he’s a good dog, but he is still a dog, and that’s a problem. Like, he still thinks squirrels are his mortal enemy. And that I don’t feed him enough. How did the spirit of a wizard reach across millennia, to our time? I don’t know.

The truth is, I’m not much of a wizard, because there’s not much magic in the world for me to work with. But there used to be magic. And magic is coming back as our world converges with the Nether.

Unless I can stop it.

Quite enjoyed the story loved the humour. Found it refreshing. Bray did an awesome job of narrating the story.

Entertaining

My only issue was I'd often hear Joe Bishop instead of Kazimir Wolfe but other than that this book is great! Same great formula as Expeditionary Force. Happy to say Kaz becomes his own voice and personality by book 2.

Great series

Just finished listening and looks like its shaping up to be a good one. I will say do not go straight into this if you just listened to Expeditionary Force. One may start thinking of Kaz Wolfe to be a magical Joe Bishop. I would recommend listening to something else to reset your brain. With that being said, writing is great and narrator is awesome. 5 stars.

Can Not Wait For More

I consumed book one reluctantly at the start but the farther I got the more entertaining it was until finishing the book in which I am hooked.
For fans of expeditionary force convergence is essentially a modern fantasy skin of X force. It has similar dynamics, similar explanations of crazy or simple ideas two characters whom have no idea, it’s got the witty banter back-and-forth. It’s got the silly references. It’s got a Skippyesk character. It’s got references to expeditionary force. Highly recommend recommended for any fan of Craig Alanson’s work.

I especially love to see how far Craig has come. He’s writing women and explaining how much bullshit they have to go through on a regular basis too, which is always appreciated.

The only negative is that perhaps he should be writing the word Native American or indigenous instead of Indian, but that is such a small negative really and I’m sure Craig fixes this in the later books because he’s always really good about being progressive and considerate of the people’s of whom he is writing about.

Its like Exforce but fantacy
