Description

Absalute best of thor! I have them all and this one surpasses the lot. The action never quits, the plot is great, and I loved it from start to finish. Now Flynn has some real compitition.

Armand reads...
...but George acts the books. Wanted to give the book a five-star rating, but without George it just wasn't the same.
P.S. Why aren't there unabridged versions of all Thor's books on Audible?

Enjoyed the book but.....
Having listened to two of Brad's other books, I was looking forward to getting back into the lives of the characters. What I didn't realize was how much influence George Guidall's narration had on my experience. Armand is certainly a excellent reader but it was not the same. Bring back George!

One of Brad Thor's best
I first listened to Foreign Influence when it was released and I just finished listening to it again. It is a solid 5 star political thriller.
I want to address some of the complaints in the reviews. First Armand Schultz is not as good at narrating as George Guidall, but he is plenty good enough. Some complain that Brad Thor is not as good with this type of espionage thrillers as Vince Flynn or Ben Coes. He is also not as good as Mark Greaney either, but Thor is definitely among the first tier of espionage thrillers authors. The more frequent complaint is that Brad Thor is too political (meaning too politically conservative). With the sole exception of Barry Eisler I'm not aware of any espionage thriller writers who fall squarely on the left side of the US political divide. It does not keep me from purchasing and listening to all of his books.

Fighting terrorists around the world
This is another story involving Scott Horvath, ex navy seal, goverhment operative who is charged with stopping terrorists that carrying out increasingly larger attacks. He travels the world as the terrorists spread their terror through Europe, Scandanavia and fianlly Chicago. For me, it was the best Brad Thor book so far. The pace is fast and urgesnt. I thought the use of an all female operative team was also a nice touch to this kind of story. If you like political thrillers, this is a must...you will not be dissappointed.

By George, where are you?
What did you like best about Foreign Influence? What did you like least?
Storyline was pretty good. The narration was a huge step down from George Guidall. Schultz is just unable to bring the characters to life. Some of the voices on a few characters are actually annoying.
Would you be willing to try another one of Armand Schultz’s performances?

Was Foreign Influence worth the listening time?
As mentioned above, the storyline was good but do think there was too much filler in this novel. I understand that unabridged includes a lot more detail but much of this book was just boring with useless detail.
Any additional comments?
Enjoyed the previous Thor novels much more than this one.

One Among Many
Maybe I've read too many great political/action novels, which I love, that this one didn't cut it for me. While there was action, I did not feel a connection to any of the characters. I felt myself bored listening much of the time. The best moment was the very end, leaving unanswered questions. However, I don't think I'll read the next book. I also did not find the narrator brought much interest to the book.
Perhaps I'm spoiled by Vince Flynn.

Great escape
Brad Thor keeps getting better. A story that grabs you and then pulls you in. Enjoyed the beginning, middle and the end. Kept you on the edge of your seat the whole book.

Excellent sequel
I loved the first book in this series and did not think the sequel could live up to it! I was wrong. This book held my attention from beginning to end. I listened to the entire book almost non-stop. It had everything-great narration, excellent plot, excitement, intelligence, suspense-everything I have come to expect from Brad Thor. And I was not disappointed. Hurray! Can't wait for the next book. Thanks Brad for a thrilling ride!

Very Bland
I have tried several Brad Thor books and just cannot get into them. I finally figured it out on this book. He takes too long to start tying the different characters and parts of the book together. It is as if you are reading 3 or 4 books at once, putting one down and picking the other up. His main character is not very interesting. Thor was billed as "Vince Flynn style writer". Not!
