When I first learned that Reese Witherspoon and Harlan Coben were collaborating on a novel, I practically jumped out of my chair. As someone who’s devoured Coben's thrillers—as well as being a part of Reese's book club—this partnership was immediately one of my most-anticipated listens of the year. The medical thriller introduces listeners to Maggie McCabe, a former surgeon with extraordinary skills. Maggie is exclusively chosen to perform a discreet, unconventional medical procedure, and then finds herself thrust into a treacherous world in which her principles and survival instincts are put to the test. I really wanted to like this book especially with who the authors are but it fell short for me. I struggled to get to the end and gave up with 45 mins left cause I had, had enough!
I would definitely listen to a book with Reese narrating though, she has the voice for it.
This storyline was just plain boring to me. I kept waiting , thinking ' it has to get better ' but nope, it just drug on and on......
I feel like I wasted a credit.

Had high hopes. The book started well, despite a main character being named pork chop. I was drawn in initially, but disappointed about 2/3 of the way through the book but finished it.

This was the first Fiction I've dove into in years. I heard Reese talking about the book on the Armchair Expert podcast and since I love her and am currently watching the Morning Show I decided to have a listen. It's a great story from start to finish. It's actually a book I'd love to read. Listening was great having the fantastic narrators they do. I highly recommend!

The performance was great, however, the story was full of scientific and medical exaggerations. It sounded like there was very surface level research on the medical and surgical parts and as a physician, I can say that the surgical exaggerations were quite annoying.
