I saw the movie starring Roddy McDowell when I was a kid, and I really liked it. the first movie I had seen with Scientific investigation of the paranormal. The movie was pretty scary and a cut above other Haunted House movies. When I found out the book was by Richard Matheson, the creator of Kolchak and I am Legend, I had to get the book. Wow. More intense, graphic and terrifying than the film, I was hooked the whole time. A Classic and must read for all fans of the Genre.
