I love this series and this, the 4th installment, did not disappoint in any way. The captivating performance of the narrator , Robert Glenister, brings the excellent writing to life. I fully hope there will be a 5th !!!

This is the fourth book I have listened to in the Strike Series. Although I didn’t actually love the storyline in this book as much as the first three, I still enjoyed listening to it because the performance of the narrator is fantastic and the characters are so strong from the previous books. I am going to start the fifth book right away. Start with the first book of the series and if you’re like me, you’ll get hooked. Highly recommend.

I just hope more books will come! Can’t have enough of the characters, the mystery as well as the impersonation perfectly delivered by Robert Glenister.

20 hours of fantastic narration and writing! I’m in love with both Strike & Robin! I feel like I know their thoughts. This was an excellent story and well worth the time! I’d read/listen again! The only problem—now that I’ve finished this book—what do I read now!?
I highly recommend the series and I’m waiting, somewhat impatiently for the next book in the series!!!

I love this author. Every paragraph moves the story forward. Well rounded characters that keep developing. Deserves more then 5 stars.

Series gets better with every new book

I truly love this series. I had a hard time not listening and getting on with my real life. These characters are so interesting both the two main characters and the other story characters. Definitely a gifted writer. I don’t want this story to ever end and can hardy wait for the next novel. I love Robert Glenister narration. I hope this does not change for the next novel. I can hardy wait!!!!

Loved Loved Loved

I had this book saved in my audible for a while and only now got around to listening to it. This is my first C strike book and I have to say I enjoyed the book for the most part. The narration was great and the general plot was good, however, I like a strong female lead and did not get that in this book. I guess I missed a lot of stuff in the past books that would explain Robin’s character, but from what I read, most of the stuff that happened to her in the past books were also as a result of bad judgement on her part and in this book her character annoyed me. I thought that for who started studying psychology and claimed she always wanted to be a cop, she was very weak. She’s been brutally attacked in the past and is having panic attacks whenever she thinks someone is behind her but yet can’t see the benefit of therapy or SELF DEFENCE training?? I would have understood, not really, but kinda, if this book was actually written by a male, but finding out it was written by JK made me sad that she couldn’t write a stronger female character.

Also, I know that women stay in marriages because of kids, or family obligations but to find this female lead had no such reasons and suffers from the same poor judgement in both her business and personal life made me so sad and is a deterrent for reading future books.

I would recommend this book for the story. Reviews may speak of the sexual tension, I felt both lead characters cared for each other, but a hug at her wedding, an accidental peck and a few notes about possible jealousy does not translate to sexual tension in my book.
