À propos de cet audio
A young woman in need of a transformation finds herself in touch with the animal inside in this gripping, incisive USA Today bestselling novel from the author of Cackle and The Return.
Rory Morris isn’t thrilled to be moving back to her hometown, even if it is temporary. There are bad memories there. But her twin sister, Scarlett, is pregnant, estranged from the baby’s father, and needs support, so Rory returns to the place she thought she’d put in her rearview. After a night out at a bar where she runs into Ian, an old almost-flame, she hits a large animal with her car. And when she gets out to investigate, she’s attacked.
Rory survives, miraculously, but life begins to look and feel different. She’s unnaturally strong, with an aversion to silver—and suddenly the moon has her in its thrall. She’s changing into someone else—something else, maybe even a monster. But does that mean she’s putting those close to her in danger? Or is embracing the wildness inside of her the key to acceptance?
This darkly comedic love story is a brilliantly layered portrait of trauma, rage, and vulnerability.

Thirty years after a tragic accident shut down production of the classic children’s program Mister Magic, the five surviving cast members have done their best to move on. It’s the house of their dreams. Former marine Harry and his wife, Sasha, have packed up their life and their golden retriever, Dash, and fled the corporate rat race to live off the land in rural Idaho. Their breathtaking new home sits on more than forty acres of meadow, aspen trees, and pine forest in the Teton Valley. Even if their friends and family think it’s a strange choice for an up-and-coming pair of urban professionals, Harry and Sasha couldn’t be happier about the future they’re building, all by their lonesome.

In a warren of crumbling buildings and desperate people called the Old City, there stands a hospital with cinderblock walls that echo the screams of the poor souls inside. In the hospital, there is a woman. Her hair, once blond, hangs in tangles down her back. She doesn't remember why she's in such a terrible place. Just a tea party long ago, and long ears, and blood.

Ce que les critiques en disent
"Such Sharp Teeth is wonderfully witty and wild. It's also heady and daring in how the story explores friend and family dynamics, the anger women aren't allowed to express within our culture, and the wounds that transform us against our will. The next full moon I see, I'll be rooting for Rory."–Paul Tremblay, author of The Cabin at the End of the World and The Pallbearers Club
“Rachel Harrison’s razor sharp prose cuts straight to the bone. With its quick-witted dialogue and acutely human regard for its cursed characters, Such Sharp Teeth solidifies her spot as the alpha author of heartfelt horror. Never has a novel made me feel more like a chew toy and I loved every nibble of it.”–Clay McLeod Chapman, author of Ghost Eaters
I found the parallel between the werewolf rage and the undealt with trama well done.

Loved this story

It felt like the narrative pushed the domestic small town life for women. Not just those that happily chose it and found fulfillment in it, but also for those who unwillingly find themselves pregnant or have careers they love in the city. It was unpleasant reading about how two sisters decided to give up so much of themselves to a life they didn't choose.
It also has two tropes that I absolutely hate: That a pregnant character must absolutely keep the baby even if they don't want to be a parent, and that toxic family deserve forgiveness and a place in your life. Even if to this day they refuse to take accountability for causing the worst moments in your life and then victim-blamed their child.
I loved Cackle, so I was expecting to love this

Back in her hometown she lives with her sister and her sister's dog. The dog knows something's up. We encounter the twins' mother and stepfather, and old friends from high school. The horror!! Imagine living in a small town with all the same people you grew up with. If that's not horrific enough, Rory starts to crave so much meat and rejects desserts. Her silver jewelry is leaving burns on her skin. And when there is a full moon... she has to chain herself up to keep from unknowingly rampaging the countryside and waking up with rat fur and teeth in her mouth.
It's a fun story with a few surprises, as we follow Rory coming to terms with what has happened, and navigating social events and the dating world at the same time. Very unique! Perfect for Spooktober.
The narrator was excellent
