Worth Listening to Multiple Times

Great reminder of how little thoughts and actions can lead to big results. The only coplaint I have is that at times it can sound a lot like an infomercial. The author starts by saying it's not a typical sales pitch on a concept but it feels like that at points, especially when you check out thr website after the fact. If you can ignore and look past the "salesy" component there is great content to learn from.

Privileged and biased

This book is not all bad. If you fall into the the middle class of higher this book will be a useful read in completing your goals (for reference I fall into this category). So many of the “just do it” solutions presented by Hardy are things I can immediately incorporate into my life. However, Hardy shows his biases and privilege in multiple areas including his direct quote that he can turn off the news because 99% of it does not apply to him. I’m glad to here Mr. Hardy that your life is so great that you cannot relate to things you see on the News or television and care. Later in the book he discusses his work with Invisible Children, this is great and I’m glad he is apart of something like this. He ruins his arguments before he talks about this however but saying how important it was that Oprah got on board and broadcasted this campaign. So he wants us to remove ourselves from the media, but also us it when it suits us only.
Overall he has some good broad themes and good one-liners to get you motivated. However, there was not one example or story he told in relation to these themes that made him sound anything but privileges, biased, classist and unintelligent.
Get motivated to work on yourself and your progress for sure, but putting your head in the sand and thinking that areas such as racism and classism don’t hinder people’s abilities to succeed isn’t a good start Mr. Hardy. Do better.

Globalement décevant et too fluffy. Tous les bons conseils pourraient tenir en une heure au max.

Amazing! With one exception.. action items excluded

This book’s content is a 5/5! I learned so much! It was a quick read with so much value in every chapter. The only downside to this audiobook in my opinion though was at the end of each chapter, the author would say to refer to the book for the chapter action items. I was disappointed that such practical applications were not included in the audio. I purchased the audio book to get all the content, not all content except the action items.

Remedial Read: Level 4th or 5th

Nothing profound or really insightful here. This book is basically a list of light stories about common sense subjects peppered with the usual “super achiever” quotes. I’m judging this book harsher because of this authors reference to Jim Rohn being his mentor. By that metric this book is super weak. Let me save everyone 4-6 hours of their lives and $15 by telling you that little incremental things add up to big things. Baby steps, persistence, accountability, choices, the end.

Just ok. If you read/listened to Atomic habits you can skip this one

If I had to extract the most helpful and useful information from this book, it would be about building good habits and eliminating bad ones, and if this the case- you should read “Atomic habits”.
Basically the “compound effect” is derived from your good habits, so again, there are better resources on the subject than thus book.
Why listen to this one? Easy listen. Might refresh what you already know or introduce you to these concepts.

Change your life with small steps

this book doesn't present any new science or discovery. What it preaches has long been known to us; it's the small things done consistently that make the difference

after reading this book, I had the urge to make changes in my life. This book was written well, well enough to give me the kick in the bum

if I had 1 criticism, it would be that the research done on this book wasn't deep enough to my liking. for example, when he talked about health, he usually referred to dr Oz.

Or when he talked about the time Oprah gave away a car to every audience member, saying that it was Oprah who went the extra mile when im fact that giveaway was fully sponsored by Pontiac to promote their new car model

Being a nut for proper facts it does bother me, but I wouldn't let that get in the way of me appreciating a well written book. Anyone who wants to change their life should read this

Success Magazine advertisement disguised as a book

A basic idea that everyday work compounds to bug results. True, but not fleshed out to anything useful. There is no practice advice on how to apply the theory or how this differs from any other self help book that pushes discipline. Disappointing.

I love this book at 1.25 speed. Lots of life changing easy life hacks for self improvement. I take lots of notes. A gem of a book, wealth of info and knowledge I love it.
I am using some of the principles and they have already paid off and I have noticed great improvement in just a few days only.
