After decades of research, world-renowned Stanford University psychologist Carol S. Dweck discovered a simple but groundbreaking idea: the power of mindset. In this brilliant book, she describes how success in school, work, sports, the arts, and almost every area of human endeavor can be dramatically influenced by how we think about our talents and abilities. In this edition, Dweck offers new insights into her now famous and broadly embraced concept. She introduces a phenomenon she calls false growth mindset and guides people toward adopting a deeper, truer growth mindset.

Wealth does not equal success
Is anybody else tired of hearing that success equates to your bank account? I feel this book convolutes success/happiness/wealth as if it's one package. I like the reminder that discipline and hardwork are the key to any fulfilling activity but this has zero to do with wealth.

Still need to buy the book
This book is filled with a lot of wisdom but the book contains a lot of the chapter summaries and exercises and additional thoughts to further embed the concepts. Darren references “Go back to the book…” so it’s a little disappointing that despite buying the audio book, you still need the physical book to get the full value.

Worth Listening to Multiple Times
Great reminder of how little thoughts and actions can lead to big results. The only coplaint I have is that at times it can sound a lot like an infomercial. The author starts by saying it's not a typical sales pitch on a concept but it feels like that at points, especially when you check out thr website after the fact. If you can ignore and look past the "salesy" component there is great content to learn from.

Outdated way of thinking
I didn't finish it.. He talked a lot about himself and I found the points were outdated and a very old way to think about things. This may have to do with the fact he said his dad was a hard * but the book is not motivating. Don't get me wrong I'm in the military but not everyone is wired like that. He said at one point he partnered with someone, the guy took his 330k and then he said he didn't do anything because it was his own fault and that you need to take responsibility for everything including letting someone take your money? It kind of reminds me of the mindset "they were asking for it". He has a large ego as he was the one who read it and said he added back in all of the stuff that the editors cut out but all of those side comments should NOT have been in there they were useless info! Someone else said privileged and I agree!

Really Good stuff
This book is a really great and fast way to open your mind on many aspect of your life that you can easily improve. The author find his inspiration in some other great authors, as you can understand he dives into some concept and idea that is already mentioned by other authors. Still this great open minding book, bring a way of thinking and ideas that shows that the author delivers keys of success that seems to be really efficient. A must read and listen because you gonna learn new ways to structure yourself. Amazing !

Globalement décevant et too fluffy. Tous les bons conseils pourraient tenir en une heure au max.

Amazing! With one exception.. action items excluded
This book’s content is a 5/5! I learned so much! It was a quick read with so much value in every chapter. The only downside to this audiobook in my opinion though was at the end of each chapter, the author would say to refer to the book for the chapter action items. I was disappointed that such practical applications were not included in the audio. I purchased the audio book to get all the content, not all content except the action items.

Remedial Read: Level 4th or 5th
Nothing profound or really insightful here. This book is basically a list of light stories about common sense subjects peppered with the usual “super achiever” quotes. I’m judging this book harsher because of this authors reference to Jim Rohn being his mentor. By that metric this book is super weak. Let me save everyone 4-6 hours of their lives and $15 by telling you that little incremental things add up to big things. Baby steps, persistence, accountability, choices, the end.

Just ok. If you read/listened to Atomic habits you can skip this one
If I had to extract the most helpful and useful information from this book, it would be about building good habits and eliminating bad ones, and if this the case- you should read “Atomic habits”.
Basically the “compound effect” is derived from your good habits, so again, there are better resources on the subject than thus book.
Why listen to this one? Easy listen. Might refresh what you already know or introduce you to these concepts.

Change your life with small steps
this book doesn't present any new science or discovery. What it preaches has long been known to us; it's the small things done consistently that make the difference
after reading this book, I had the urge to make changes in my life. This book was written well, well enough to give me the kick in the bum
if I had 1 criticism, it would be that the research done on this book wasn't deep enough to my liking. for example, when he talked about health, he usually referred to dr Oz.
Or when he talked about the time Oprah gave away a car to every audience member, saying that it was Oprah who went the extra mile when im fact that giveaway was fully sponsored by Pontiac to promote their new car model
Being a nut for proper facts it does bother me, but I wouldn't let that get in the way of me appreciating a well written book. Anyone who wants to change their life should read this

Success Magazine advertisement disguised as a book
A basic idea that everyday work compounds to bug results. True, but not fleshed out to anything useful. There is no practice advice on how to apply the theory or how this differs from any other self help book that pushes discipline. Disappointing.

Great book
After listening to this audible, I’m convinced that I should have this book in my home library. And I’m gonna buy my husband the cds to listen to on his drive to/from work!

One of the best self building books I have ever re
I love this book at 1.25 speed. Lots of life changing easy life hacks for self improvement. I take lots of notes. A gem of a book, wealth of info and knowledge I love it.
I am using some of the principles and they have already paid off and I have noticed great improvement in just a few days only.

Life isn't this simple
I can't finish listening to this self-righteous douche. Good for him that his life has worked out just peachy. Not everyone starts out with the same opportunities and circumstances. It's not as simple as work hard and make good choices. Those are both good things to do, but they won't make everyone a millionaire with an awesome life in every way.
