This book felt like another needed sort of filler book tbh, kinda like the last one. That doesn't mean that it was boring or didn't have content.. but it was a needed part of the story to shore up their tiers and explain what they've been doing. I'd say the plot has taken a stop back sing ming kala.. there just hasn't really been any moving of a main mission or plot other than leveling and minor skirmishes.. But I'll be looking forward to the next book, with the gang Tier 25 and done the path and done hiding who they are, it'll be interesting to see them join the war and everything. Them revealing their true identities has been a long time coming!

great continuation of story. spoilers ahead. the Time warp where we are jumping at year to year or almost 12-year intervals jumping throughout their lives at key moments until they hit 25. it was nice to see them finally get there. I wish there was another book or two in between kind of filling in their misadventures on their way to 25. I know the war is a big ark but it just seems like everything was rushed to get them into it

It seems like the author is slowly learning a bad habit since book 6 - dragging a scene for too long. It's more exacerbated now e.g. a single battle lasting a hour; MC spending half an hour (real time) trying to find a word (why didn't he just use his super-powerd AI instead??), so while the plot is still interesting, I think it's a good end for the series and there is no need to continue.

This was my favourite one so far. I had watery eyes for the last hour or two of the book with how good it was. can't wait for the rest. incredible how Mantis makes Matt Liz and Aster all such good characters

The title says it all. I wasn’t a huge fan of young Mat’s voice or some of the more grandiose moments but those might be what make this book and series for you. Have a good time
