À propos de cet audio
A Dawn of Fire audio.
Book three spins the saga of the Space Wolves as they stand against rampaging xenos hordes. Logan Grimnar faces a momentous decision that will impact the future of the chapter itself.
Listen to it because: discover how the Cicatrix Maledictum affects even the most stubborn and steadfast of the Imperium’s warriors, as traditions the Space Wolves hold dear may be stopping them from defending the Imperium to the best of their abilities.
The story: the Indomitus Crusade has brought the Emperor's vengeance to thousands of star systems. The fleets and armies under the leadership of Roboute Guilliman fight for the survival of humanity against the forces of the Chaos Gods. But the traitors and heretics are not the only foe looking to destroy the rule of Terra.
Xenos prey on human worlds in numbers not seen for millennia. Worst amongst them are the rampaging orks, whose migration conquests threaten to reverse the many gains of Fleet Primus. And their throaty bellows carry a name not heard in years, of destruction made flesh, a bestial warlord without peer: Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka.
In the midst of this brutal tide is Fenris, the world of the Space Wolves. Depleted by ever-greater demands on their warriors, called upon by the Legion-breaker Guilliman, the Wolves of Fenris face a momentous decision. Grimnar and his counsellors must choose whether their fate is to ally themselves with an ancient rival and risk all that makes them the Vlka Fenryka or to accept their demise and wait for the return of their own primarch and the coming of the Wolftime.

Rushed ending
I last chapters seemed undeveloped and anticlimactic. But it's a book I might revisit again.

great story. over hyped title
good continuation of the story but kind of scattered when it comes to the action and various plots. I find John Banks has an odd reading style for these types of novels. He is very quick passed and doesn't pause or give dramatic effect at crucial moments, jumping between the various plot lines in a chapter without any pause or give indication the pervious sentence is over and hes moved on. His various voices at very well done and suits the setting and persons. The story is good but wasn't given the love to relli bring out how impactfull certain events were. overall well done and ill be buying the next installment 100%

Enjoyable WH40K Story, But..
I have no idea why this Gav Thorpe adventure is included in the 'Dawn Of Fire' sub-trilogy of Warhammer 40,000 books. It doesn't really connect to the Indomitus Crusade other than through a couple of chapters that feel shoehorned in. The book is mainly a series of battles between xenos (Orcs) and space marines (Fenrisians).
The action is well-scripted and described with mind's-eye vivid skill, but individual encounters are connected with a sketched-out plot involving the corruption of a warp rift. There's plenty of combat, but check your brain at the door.
Fortuitously for Black Library aficionados: John Banks turns in his customary excellence. He inspires too loudly occasionally and struggles making scene shifts distinctive, but his diction, timbre, cadence, tone, and voice-acting are otherwise unimpeachable.
Altogether, this story is relatively sophomoric - don't expect a cerebral extension of the Warhammer mythos - but still merits 6 stars out of 10. Observations from other reviewers that the ending is rushed are legit, too, but you're not wasting a Credit if you invest it in this book.

A good story, felt abandoned near the end.
I enjoyed listening to it and learning more about the Space Wolves. I enjoyed the multiple storyline and subplots. I was disappointed, however, with the final 2 or 3 chapters. It felt like the author had been in a hurry to wrap things up. I would have better enjoyed a story where its conclusion was as well crafted as the rest of the book.
I also found it difficult at times to know who was speaking as not all the characters had a unique feel.

Solid book
Does a good job of explaining the Primaris showin up to Fenris and how that played out, My only gripe is that I wish Robute had more dialogue with Logan and Bjorn but other than that its good. This series has a whisper of the HH series, just enough to trick an old neckbeard into getting through a few.

Title is Russ baiting
Not relevant to DoF, skippable. Also very bad and the title is a lie. Thorpe is not good at writing novels and this is proof.
