    Bob Mortimer is an English comedian, TV presenter, fisherman, author, podcaster, pork pie detective and 100% certified national treasure. He’s with us to chat about his new book, The Long Shoe, his third work of fiction following the successes of The Hotel Avocado and The Satsuma Complex. Bob has sold over 2 million books (and counting), crowning another significant chapter in his legendary career. Bob first appeared on our screens in the early 90s in Vic Reeves’ Big Night Out. His working relationship with Vic has continued for decades and the pair are regarded among the funniest acts in British comedy. Bob is also known for his part in another double act, with Paul Whitehouse in Gone Fishing, a programme which documents their time together on the shores of rivers, streams, seas and lakes as part of Bob’s recovery from open heart surgery. Upon entering the Dish kitchen, Bob quickly spots the pork pie starter and crisp bowl, which is followed by Angela fulfilling his nostalgic request and serving kedgeree-style monkfish rice alongside a fresh and cold IPA. Waitrose’s wine experts pair this meal with a glass of Paul Mas Réserve Languedoc Blanc. From stories about accidental house fires to avoiding dinner parties and the perfect pasta name for a cat, we learn an incredible amount in Bob’s company.     Highlights from our biggest live show yet! We’re thrilled to share our first ever live episode, recorded in September 2025 at The Royal Opera House in front of 2200 Dish fans. Our guest, Jack Whitehall, is an English comedian, presenter, actor and writer - and no stranger to stages of such grandeur. Jack joined us to help settle Nick and Angela’s nerves and provide just a little bit of chaos in our on-stage kitchen. The night is one huge celebration of Dish, complete with special guests, a house band (thank you Sous Chefs), a trap door and more dry ice than we ever thought possible. The show starts with a glass of Veuve Clicquot to celebrate a landmark moment before Nick mixes up an old fashioned for Jack. Angela serves an aubergine parmigiana, a Dish classic that proved a big hit for Shania Twain last year, alongside a glass of Prunotto Barolo, paired by the Waitrose wine experts. Jack can be seen in the new Prime Video show Malice, where he plays a manipulative male nanny alongside David Duchovny and Carice van Houten. The role involved some cheffing skills, which come much more naturally to Jack than his father Michael, who is in the crowd for this show. From food likes and dislikes to the Fast Food Quiz under a spotlight, and a goody bag reveal that comes out of nowhere, this is Dish - but not like you’ve seen it before. The show took place on the same night as the launch party of Angela’s new restaurant, Cicoria, situated on the top floor of the Opera House.     Has Angela met her match in the ultimate bolognese battle? Joe Wilkinson is an English comedian, actor, podcaster, screenwriter and star of the new Waitrose Christmas advert. Joe first came to prominence in the BBC Three show Him & Her before further acting roles in Derek, Miranda and After Life. He has also brought his impeccable comedy timing to shows including Russell Howard’s Good News, 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Last One Laughing and Taskmaster as well as proving ever-faithful on this year’s Celebrity Traitors. He also hosts an almost-daily podcast called Chatabix with his long-term writing partner, David Earl. Joe’s favourite food is his own bolognese, which leads to a forensic breakdown of his process and the chance for Angela to impress with the best bolognese. Does it cut it with Joe? What about Marmite? How liberal should you be with the Italian mixed herbs? All these questions are answered alongside a glass of Zeno Alcohol-Liberated Red for Joe and a wine pairing of Villa Antinori for Nick and Angela. We start the show with a Fever-Tree Non-Alcoholic Italian Spritz. We loved Joe’s list of food likes and dislikes, and need to thank his wife Petra for supplying all the extra details, including his fondness for slow-roasted meat and dedication to planning the perfect takeaway.     Our first Professor, our first Dover sole... and our second Brian Cox. Professor Brian Cox is a British physicist, broadcaster, writer and professor of particle physics. You will know Brian from his TV work on shows including Horizon, The Planets and Solar System alongside his BBC Radio 4 programme, The Infinite Monkey Cage. Brian, who was born in Oldham, joins us to blow Nick and Angela’s minds and chat about his new stage show, Emergence. Emergence, which explores the universe and cosmic evolution, is a HUGE production involving a giant display screen able to bring out-of-this-world shots to life. Tickets are available now for the world tour. This episode is powered by curiosity, including Brian’s own desire to learn how to cook Dover sole. Step forward Angela Hartnett who takes Brian under her wing at the counter to help create our dish of cider-steamed Dover sole & clams.     An episode packed with strong food opinions and another one-pot-wonder chicken dish. Jamali Maddix is a British comedian, writer and presenter known for his honest and intelligent humour. Alongside regular appearances on shows including Never Mind the Buzzcocks, QI and 8 Out of 10 Cats, he’s also fronted a number of documentaries, including last year’s Follow The Leader for U&Dave. He’s with us to talk about the new Comedy Central show, Jimmy Carr’s Am I The A**hole, where Jamali, Jimmy and GK Barry are in charge of serving judgements on the divisive behaviour of members of the public. Angela serves spiced whole chicken with herby rice, which is an instant hit with Jamali, tasting so good that it proves a distraction from Nick’s questions. The drinks pairing of Felsner Moosburgerin Grüner Veltliner 2024 Kremstal is a test for Jamali’s palate, but he gives it a go, despite not being a huge wine lover. Room is made for dessert, with a selection of Ottolenghi’s new ice creams, including, Madagascan Vanilla & Miso Caramel. Food chat at Dish has never been so passionate, with nothing safe from Jamali’s razor sharp takes. Air fryers, wine and the concept of sharing desserts are among the victims in this week’s episode.     Angela’s first serving of aligot goes down very well with Nick and our brilliant guest. Vicky McClure is a BAFTA-winning actor known for her incredible roles in Line of Duty as Kate Fleming and This is England as Lol Jenkins. She joins Nick and Ange to talk about the third series of Trigger Point, the thriller in which Vicky plays Lana, a bomb disposal expert (known as an expo), struggling with trauma and PTSD. You can watch the show from 26 October on ITV and ITVX. Vicky was born in Nottingham and lives there today with her husband Jonny, who is also an actor and filmmaker. The couple first met over a sausage cob, and it’s one of many areas of food and drink that Vicky feels strongly about, including tea and how to act with it correctly. We begin the episode with Nick mixing up the first ever bloody Mary on the show ahead of a main course of roast topside of beef with peppercorn gravy & aligot. Aligot, a recipe made of potato and cheese, also makes its Dish debut... but definitely not its last, based on this reaction. It’s paired with a glass of Catena Malbec. Vicky brings pure joy to our table as well as her passion for her hometown and nighttime. We hear about working with Madonna and how she prepares for her demanding roles.     Our award winning duo meet a DJ and producer who knows a thing or two about acceptance speeches. Mark Ronson is a BRIT, Golden Globe, Grammy and Oscar-winning British-American DJ, record producer, musician and songwriter. He has added ‘author’ to that list, too, with the release of his memoir, Night People, an account of becoming a DJ in ‘90s New York. The book is full of incredible stories and entertaining celebrity encounters, and you get a tasty sampler of them in our chat over roast chicken. We start the episode with a dirty vodka martini and a side of Monster Munch before a hearty roast chicken with fennel, shallot & white bean stew, appealing to Mark’s love of Sunday roasts. This is paired with a glass of Vignerons Ardechois Viognier and served alongside tales of working with Paul McCartney and Lady Gaga and the joy Mark gets from being a dad. Mark and Nick’s own friendship stretches back to the noughties, and nights out together with the likes of Adele and Amy Winehouse. Nostalgic memories are sparked across the table, including one involving a hungover Nick in New York and a party hosted by Leonardo DiCaprio.
