  • From Care Homes to Raising £120 Million — How He's Building Britain's Own AI
    Mar 20 2026

    Send us Fan Mail

What happens when everything you've built disappears overnight, not because you failed, but because of a political decision you had no control over?

In this episode, I sit down with Christopher Kenna — entrepreneur, military veteran, and founder of Media Stream. After growing his diversity agency Brand Advance to £5.5 million in revenue, a US executive order banning diversity initiatives wiped out almost everything overnight, leaving him with just £500K.

But Christopher didn't stop. He's now building one of the UK's first sovereign AI companies, including Mother, the UK's first public large language model with data centres across the north of England and £120 million in debt finance raised.

This conversation goes far beyond business. We talk about growing up in care homes, joining the army on 9/11, the hidden risks of building on infrastructure you don't own, and why the UK needs to stop giving away the technology it invented.

    💡 You'll learn:
    • Why a single executive order destroyed a £5.5 million business
    • What sovereign AI actually means in plain English
    • Why most UK businesses are built on systems they don't control
    • How Christopher rebuilt after losing his company, his team, and his revenue
    • The mindset lessons from growing up in care and serving in the military
    • Why he believes the UK can build a tech company to rival American giants

🎧 Hit play to hear one of the most powerful conversations I've had on this podcast, about loss, resilience, and building something designed to last.

  • Why Founders Don’t Need More Staff: They Need a Second Brain to Leverage Their Business
    Feb 13 2026

    Send a text

Most founders think they need more staff.
More hands. More capacity. More output.

But what if the real problem isn’t workload at all?

In this episode of Focus on the Fun Stuff, Emma breaks down the hiring mistake that keeps founders busy, overwhelmed, and stuck in the day to day. And why adding more doers often creates more noise instead of real progress.

This episode explores the idea of the “second brain”. The kind of support that brings clarity, momentum, and better decision making, especially in a world where AI and leverage are reshaping how businesses scale.

🎯 If you feel busy but not effective, this conversation will change how you think about hiring and growth.

  • The Guide Every Business Owner Needs Before Selling Their Company with Dominic Baldwin
    Jan 30 2026

    Send a text

What if financial planning wasn’t about chasing more money - but about creating confidence, clarity, and a life that actually feels good?

In this episode of Focus on the Fun Stuff, Emma sits down with Dominic Baldwin, founder of Xentum, for one of the most powerful conversations we’ve ever had about money, wellbeing, and decision-making as a business owner.

Dominic shares his deeply personal journey into financial services, including how his father’s experience with poor financial guidance shaped a radically different, values-led approach to wealth.

One that puts financial wellness, peace of mind, and life design ahead of products, percentages, and performance alone.

    Together, we explore:
    * What financial wellness really means (and why wealth = wellbeing)
    * How business owners can make better decisions by aligning money with values
    * Why selling a business or retiring can feel harder than expected
    * The role of a financial advisor as a guide, not a salesperson
    * How clarity, not hustle, often unlocks the next chapter
    * Why more money doesn’t automatically bring more happiness
    * How to plan for life after exit - before it’s too late

This episode is essential listening for:
    ✔️ Business owners
✔️ Entrepreneurs approaching exit or scale
✔️ Founders feeling successful on paper but overwhelmed in reality
✔️ Anyone who wants a healthier relationship with money

If you’ve ever felt anxious about financial decisions, stuck in reactive mode, or unsure what you’re actually building all this success for - this conversation will give you space to breathe, reflect, and reset.

🎧 Listen now and discover how to use money as a tool to truly focus on the fun stuff.

In this episode of Focus on the Fun Stuff, I sit down with Neil Sweeney - entrepreneur, investor, EOS implementer and founder who went from living in a garage with his young family… to scaling two businesses and exited for multi-million pound sums.

Neil shares the unfiltered story of building his first company, Securo, from scratch with nothing but a credit card, pure grit and why he stripped his family life back to zero to make it happen.

    • How Neil went from commercial property apprentice to multimillion-pound founder
    • Why he moved his family into a garage for years to reduce overheads and take risks
